Chapter 20 : An Unwelcomed Guest.

Arjun's POV

"Where are you, silly boy?", Radhika said from the other side of the phone.

Managing the phone between my ear and the shoulder, as I was busy inspecting my car engine, I replied, " in the middle of no where".

"Your car broke down again?", she started laughing hysterically.

"Oh come on! You don't laugh on your younger brother's misery, Radhika!", I said, totally annoyed with my sister.

"Are you serious? You should really put away that stupid car of yours and buy a new one! You earn more than enough to buy a new one, don't you, baby brother?", she said still laughing.

"How many times have I told you not to call me baby. I'm not a baby, Radhika!", I said shutting down the bonnet.

"Stop whining like a child, Arjun! I'm still amused that Naina puts up with your childish behavior without complaining", she said .

Hearing Naina's name, a smile automatically crept onto my lips.

"Stop smiling !", Radhika said laughing.

That startled me and I frantically looked around for her presence.

Can she see me?

"Oh God, Arjun! Stop looking around! I can't see you! I just know you too well, baby brother ", she said stressing more onto the word baby.

"Radhika...", I said in a defeated tone.

But truth is, I like being a baby to Radhika and as for now, I've got to compete with that little devil for her undivided attention.

"Okay, on a serious note, Arjun, you are completely smitten by Ms Kapoor, aren't you? ", Radhika asked.

In a way, yes, I'm smitten by Naina. Her simplicity just could not go unnoticed. Apart from the women in ton I've met, she's different ; of course in a good way. She doesn't succumb to compliments easily. Infact she was the first woman to deny when I asked her out! And that attracted me more to her like a moth to flame.

"Hello? Are you even listening or busy day dreaming about Ms. Kapoor?", Radhika chuckled.

She knows me too well!

"Okay enough!", I said leaning on my stupid car, " tell me why did you call? ", I said changing the subject.

"Is there any thing special precaution I should take while preparing dinner", she asked.

"Good, you asked! Naina's pure vegetarian", I said.

It'd totally slipped my mind to inform Radhika about Naina being vegetarian.

"Okay. I'll keep that in mind and there is something important I need to discuss with you so get your overnight stuff", Radhika said leaving no space for me to argue.

"Fine, will that be all?", I asked.

"Yes and don't be late!", with that said, Radhika hung up and I was left on my misery.

Now, I'd have to let Naina pick me but first, I'll have to get my car to the garage.

After struggling for two hours, I finally got the towing service, only after paying double the amount. Entering my apartment , I immediately headed to the bathroom. I quickly took a shower and headed to kitchen, I rummaged through the refrigerator with a hope to find something edible but in vain.
Not that I keep inedible stuff, it is just that I didn't feel like consuming anything right now present in my refrigerator. But I grabbed the milk carton and some cornflakes and settled on the six seater dinning table.
Lord it feels so lonely sitting on a six seater dinning table! I miss Radhika like hell but I'm never gonna mention this to her.
I do not want her to be in emotional turmoil choosing between her brother and her sweet little family.
