The man greedily took the money off of the table as he handed me the keys. "Good riddance to that old place it has caused me nothing but trouble of the past, who knows how many years it has been in my family." I watched the man scurry away to the left while I traveled to the right look for my friends the ones who convinced me to buy this opera house.
"So! So! So! did you get it? !!! did ya? " I gave a sign and nodded my head showing Lacey the keys. She always got so excited over the smallest things though I am not sure if buying an opera house can really be considered a small thing. Ace was cackling along with Derick over Lacey's reaction.
"Come on." I motioned with my hand for them to follow me as we headed to the opera house that was under new management. We were supposed to be here for a vacation until Lacey got the genius idea along with Jenna (who had not been able to make it today) to move here and live at the opera house while we restored it.
As we approached its locked gates I couldn't deny its beauty though it had been vacant for a little over 100 or so years. There had been a story of how it had been burned down in the first place it is said. That the leading soprano (or as they used to be called the prima donna) was kidnapped by a ghost that lived in the catacombs under the opera house. There was a mob that when down there to save her and in the process ended up burning down the place I don't really know all the detail but it seems like a bunch of shit to me.
"Lexi come on open the gates I want to do in" Lacey was shaking the locked gates that lead to the steps. I pulled out the ring of keys that the man had given me and began to try them. I wasn't really surprised that literally the last one I tried opened the lock but whatever. We continued up the steps. Ace locking the gate behind us. When we reached the door I went through the same routine I did with the lock before. Once I finally got it we slowly pushed open the doors entering the opera house. Though it had been burned down in 1880, it had actually been rebuilt in 1920 but no one had used it since the incident. It was in relatively good condition considering that fact.
"wow," Lacey spun in a circle in the grand entrance.
"wow is right, look at all this dust I doubt anyone has been in here in 100 years." Ace had run his hand along the banister as we ascended the stairs. We came across the theater and I will admit it was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.
"OK I admit it this was a pretty good idea a mean look at this place but if we are going to get it up and running again we are going to need some help." Lancey smiled at my acceptance of this place.
"We can get people together and put up ads tomorrow, for now, we should choose our rooms to stay in and do to being the one who literally owns this place, Igettochoosefirst" I rushed out the last part of my sentence as I sprinted down the hall towards where I am guessing the dormitory are.
"NO FAIR!" Ace yelled and ran after me. Follow closely behind by Lacey and Derick.
