Bakugo's POV:
I am glad that Kirishima is the only one that saw me smile. He was acting so stupid and on top of that he actually came in 9th out of the class. He definitely has improved the most out of everyone. I was actually so happy for him that I couldn't hide it.
We turn a corner and continue our walk toward his house. I am so glad that he asked me to stay over. Now that I have left my house to live in the dorms, I hate going back. Not like my parents are bad or anything, but my mom is just so angry all the time and it makes me angry and I hate feeling like that and I don't want to be around it.
"Hey, you idiot." I cut off Kirishima, "How much farther until we get to your house?"
He smiles, a gentle smile, "About 20 more minutes." He pauses and thinks for a minute, "What did you want to do? Because we will have a lot of free time and it's not like we have to study for anything anymore and we don't have school at all."
"Oh, I don't care." Honestly I just want to hangout with you, I think to myself, "But we need to train every day and then afterwards we can figure it out as we go."
"Hahah alright sounds like a plan!" Kirishima turns and starts marching ahead of me. Tch. That idiot, I don't know how he can talk so much. But truthfully, I could listen to him talk non-stop everyday.
After some walking we finally get to his house and the butterflies start to flap around my stomach. Okay, I think to myself as I walk up the steps to his house, it's not that bad.
Kirishima opens the door after I nod at him for the go-ahead and as soon as the door opens I hear a woman screaming. Ha, I guess the loudness runs in the family.
The door fully opens and a black haired woman comes running into Kirishima and they hug each other.
"HEY MOMMA!" Kirishima says as he drops his bag to hug his mom.
"OH Eijiro I MISSED YOU!" His mom says to him while they are in each other's arms. It makes me feel a little warm on the inside, to see how much they love each other. Although I have to admit that I am not a fan of the whole, 'momma' thing going on.
They pull away from each other and Kirishima turns, pointing to me, and starts talking, "This is Bakugo!"
"Hello Ms. Kirishima! It is nice to meet you." I put my hand out to shake her, not ready for what is to come.
His mom lunges at me and hugs me, completely ignoring my hand. I feel my cheeks warm up and I sort of tense up at her contact. "It is so nice to meet you Bakugo! Kirishima has been talking about you for so long and I am so glad I finally get to see you in person!" I look over his mom's shoulder to Kirishima and I see his eyes widen and he starts to blush. I am not surprised, that kid literally talks about everything and anything and since he loves his mom so much of course he would talk about me.
I finally speak up as she starts to pull away from me, "It is nice to meet you too. And thank you so much for allowing me to stay here, it means a lot to me."
"OH MY, of course sweetie! Any friend of Eijiro is a friend of mine! And please call me Aika!" She squeezes both of my shoulders as she talks and finishes it with a smile, just as big as Kirishima's (although no shark teeth).
Kirishima butts in, but I am glad because I don't really know what to say at this point, "MOMMA GUESS WHAT! I got an 86% on the Finals."
I instantly regret Kirishima butting in because I think my ear drums burst.
"AHHHHHHHHH! My BABY!" His mom let's go over me and turns around and hugs Kirishima again, somehow lifting him up into the air, "THAT IS AMAZING! GOOD JOB HONEY! ALL THAT WORK YOU DO IS FINALLY PAYING OFF! GREAT JOB HONEY! AHHHHHHH! I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!" She sets him down and his smile shows just how much his mom means to him. She turns around and looks at me, "And what about you!?!"
"Oh." I say surprisedly, I wasn't expecting her to ask me that. I don't want to take Kirishima's thunder away, "I did alright."
"Well good job! As long as you passed then you did amazing in my book! Now come on, let's go inside and you boys can unpack and get settled in!" She starts walking but turns her head to look at me, "And sorry, but we don't have an extra room or anything, so you and Eijiro have to stay in his room! I hope that is okay!"
"That's perfect." I respond back.
"Okay then! You boys go put your stuff away and I will meet you back in the living room, we have so much to talk about Bakugo!"
"Ugh. relax momma, we have all Summer Vacation." Kirishima says, the whining in his voice is very apparent.
"Oh I know Eijiro, I just want to know more about Bakugo! Go get settled in!"
I speak up before she leaves for the living room, "Thank you again."
She winks as she walks off. I see Kirishima smile before he turns, "C'mon man. My room is this way. I hope you like it. I think it is pretty manly, but...yeah." He opens the door up and it's just an emptier version of his dorm room.
We set our stuff down and I speak up, I could tell he was nervous, "This room is definitely manly...man. I like it."
At my words a smile comes to his face, "Thanks man! I wasn't sure if you would get it, but I am glad you like it!" His voice changes, becoming a little softer, "And thanks."
"For what?" I say, looking at him as he looks down at his feet.
Kirishima looks up at me with a half-smile, "You know, for not saying anything about your scores. I know you wouldn't have done it to brag or anything, but thanks for letting me have my moment. I bet you would be so angry for getting a 90, let alone a 86, so when you didn't tell my mom that you got a 97, it just...I mean...like, you know."
I walk over to him and put my hand on my shoulder, "Hey, don't worry about it. You did awesome on the Finals and you should be proud of yourself. You worked really hard to get that score, be happy."
Kirishima pushes into my chest and hugs me, squeezing me pretty tightly and I sort of hug him back. "Thanks man!"
He eases up on his squeeze and speaks up, his voice normal again, "Let's go. My mom is waiting for us. And you don't have to tell her anything if you don't want to."
"No. It's fine. Your mom is really nice, I can see why you love her so much."
Kirishima's POV:
The next couple of weeks are so amazing. Everyday we wake up and work out for about 4 hours together. Then we play video games or games with my mom or talk or we go walk around different stores and the mall. Bakugo has been helping my mom cook and the food is absolutely amazing. Then at night we workout for another two hours before going upstairs and talking with each other for a while before falling asleep. I am usually the first one to fall asleep and he usually wakes up before me (I don't know how he does it), but this has been the best Summer Break ever and it isn't halfway over yet!
A few days into August, all three of us are eating breakfast when my mom brings something up.
She is carrying her plate over to the table, "Hey boys! Why don't you two go to the Aomori Nebuta Festival!?! The last day is in 3 days! It would be really fun!"
"That would be really fun! But it is up in Northern Japan."
"Oh that's okay! You two can just take the bullet train up there! I think you should go! It would be a lot of fun!"
"Are you serious momma!" That would be awesome if we could go. I have always wanted to go to a festival, but we have never gone to one. "Did you want to do that Bakugo!?!"
"Yeah. I mean if it is okay with you! It sounds like a lot of fun."
I turn my head to my mom and she has a big smile on her face, "Okay! Then it is decided! Now let's go shopping for your outfits! You can't just wear normal clothes to a festival!"
When she says those words I feel my whole body heat up. This is amazing. I start eating faster so that we can go get the clothes sooner.
"Calm down Eijiro! We have to wait for the stores to open! It is too early right now!"
