Edward Tashlin was a man in his late 20s, tall, thin but still well built when it came to having some muscle on him. He had brown eyes that went along with his tan skin, average ears and an average sized sharp nose, along with ruffled up black hair which he always tried to straighten out. Edward usually had a deep voice that he was easily able to change the bass and pitch of, but that was no use for him as his best attribute were his hands as this would lead him to enter his new work, he walked through the door of his new work and by entering the facility found an empty hall that lead to a large room with a couple of chairs and a projector at the left corner of the room. Edward looked at his right and saw on the wall a simple design of "Joey Drew Studios" with a film reel placed at the bottom of the title. He walked towards his left, away from the projector, chairs and the title of the studio. He walked to a desk and chair that had a drawing of a small character with papers littered all over as they were scattered on the floor and even the walls. He leaned forward and saw the character seeing the face it made and the adorable charming design, he saw the horns and at viewing, he squinted his eyes "Demon?" he questioned in a mumble.
"Admiring the little devil darlin' good sir?" Joey Drew questioned as he appeared almost out of nowhere
"Just looking Mister Drew, such an interesting little character. Oh goodness, let me introduce myself. I'm Edward Tashlin I saw your requirements for an animator and earlier I had scheduled an interview" he said formally.
"So you're the fellow! Well my friend, we should get you started then with that interview, there is much to do, but before we do, do you have any questions?" Joey asked Edward.
"Just one Mr. Drew, this little character" Edwards pointed at the rejected design of Bendy that had been done by the former artist, Henry. "Will this be one of the character I'll be in charge of?".
"Well certainly, except for some slight alterations Mr. Tashlin" he said. "If you want, we can go back to my office, get you instituted into your job and the characters you'll be in charge of, what do you say?"
"Well that is what I am here for, and the quicker the better" Edward responded to Joey Drew as he adjusted the collar of his shirt. Edward Tashlin had originally worked at another studio as a storyboard artist but quit as he felt his talents were being wasted and while searching around for employment, he saw the position for an animator at Joey Drew Studios and decided to check it out for himself.
"I like the way you think Mr. Tashlin, let's get you started" Joey Drew said and he began walking away from the desk towards the room with the chairs and projector before he walked by the hall leading to the exit before turning left opening the door to a small room with a large desk taking up nearly a third of the room, a wooden chair in front of the desk and a comfortable looking desk chair behind it. Joey Drew walked towards the desk reaching the other side and sitting down on the wheel chair that the desk was accompanied by "Please sit Mister. Tashlin" Joey Drew said pointing to the chair with an open palm.
Edward Tashlin moved to the chair and sat down looking around seeing the large desk and on a variety of items like pens, pencils and the name 'Joey Drew' on a name plate with the title 'Founder and C.E
O.' under the name of Joey Drew. "Alright then Mr. Tashlin can you tell me how to spell your first name?" Joey asked taking out a document out of his desk and Edward stated the spelling "Edward, E-D-W-A-R-D" he said slowly so Mister Joey Drew so he wouldn't have any conflicts with it. "Alright and how to you spell your last name?" Joey asked and Edward began spelling "T-A-S-H-L-I-N". He said and when he finished, he looked around saw the texture of light brown wallpaper decorating the room, he had just taken notice and wondered why he had only just noticed this detail?"Now Mr. Tashlin, do you have any prior experience in animation before this?" Joey asked, tapping the tip of the pen into a small canister containing ink.
"Yes, I formerly worked at Dover Bros. as a storyboard artist but due to personal differences with opinions I decided to leave." Edward answered as he sat straight with one leg planted on the floor while he tapped the other one gently against the floor to not make a sound.
"Well then, you inform that you do have work experience, but can you animate motion pictures?" Joey asked. "Yes Mr. Drew, during my time at Dover Bros. I had also animated scenes here and there, and in some occasions I would be the lead animator in Dover Bro's Art department" he said proudly yet disappointed as he thought personally that he could have done more if just given the chance at Dover Bros.
"You sound like the most worthy candidate, I just have a single question, just between us, without being professional, why did you leave?" Joey asked honestly intrigued for Edward's answer.
"Well being honest Mr. Drew, I was tired- I was tired of being just a storyboard artist, I wanted to be an animator, I wanted to make characters move, to make people laugh and smile at the motion pictures we made but I was rarely given a chance, so I decided to quit hoping I could find another place were my talents weren't so wasted away just as a storyboard artist." Edwards said proudly before taking a moment to catch his breath.
"Quite the dreamer you are Mr. Tashlin. Edward, let me be honest, I have dreams too, I can understand your feelings because that's the same way I feel about my studio, about my characters, to hell, I'll even say myself! I dream about the same things you mentioned, entertainment for the public, a sweet smile and a bit of laughter never hurt anyone, but it always did aid them".
"Good to see we meet eye-to-eye Mr. Drew" Edwards said and motioned his eyes and then Joey Drew's eyes to mean eye-to-eye. "Great minds think alike Mr. Tashlin, and you know what I think the interview has enough filling it, you're hired Mr. Tashlin" Joey chuckled in a hearty laugh.
"Thank you Mr. Drew, and please call me Edward, it suits me better" he said and Joey answered "Alright then Edward, then you can call me Joey, Joey Drew" Joey chuckled. "Welcome to the studio, Edward Tashlin, our new animator".
