About 2 months have passed since that night, so let's sum it up a bit huh?
So in conclusion about a week ago Kris and Dan officially got together, but Kristina wants to wait a little before introducing us properly, so she knows how much she can say and what not. As for me and Ethan... Who knows. We've been a little closer, we exchanged our socials and comment on each other's post or have little tag sprees, he's been a little more talkative in school too but not much, I assume he's holding back because he's the popular one and I'm the nerd. Still better than nothing right? It's not like I'm expecting anything between us because of our status in the school but Kris tells me to not lose hope. Oh yeah, I told her Ethan is basically my crush, so now she knows.

It was another boring lesson but at least it was the class with Ethan, his presence alone makes it better. There were 15 minutes left of class and suddenly the teacher closes the syllabus book and smiles sympathetically. "So, today I decided to finish early because I want to set a project for you to do, about Mendel's laws. You will have to look into all of them and do research on them, giving examples and if possible bring any in" before the teacher could even finish explaining what the project was, everyone in the class was already deciding who to do it with, not me tho. I already knew I was going to do the project alone so I zoned out while the teacher kept talking. "This is exactly why I decided to take initiative on pairing up each student myself so this wouldn't happen" she says interrupting the chattering of the class to read out the pairings she did. The class finishes and I'm packing up my stuff to head to the cafeteria for lunch when Ethan comes next to my desk. "Hey Gray are you busy after school" I take a moment to think over my schedule before answering "No I'm free I think, why?" I ask "Oh I just wanted to ask if it was cool if we did the project today, coz I know if I don't do it straight away I will procrastinate for sure" he say in fake exasperation to make us laugh, in which he succeeds. "Uh ok I think I can make it work" I reply back "Awesome, meet me at the school parking lot after classes" and with that he leaves, he never let's me finish a conversation nor says bye, almost ever. It makes me question what we are and if he sees me as anything more than just a simple classmate, who am I kidding though... Why would the popular jock ever want to even be seen with the nerd of the school?

I get going to mine and Kristina's little spot on the grass and sit down next to her. "Something happened i can tell, wanna talk about it?" she asks, inviting me to lay my head on her lap, knowing it will make me feel better, and I don't let the offer slip. "It's just, me and Ethan are paired up for a project..." I start "Gray that's perfect, you will get to spend time alone together, this is your chance" she interrupts me, trying to get me going again. "I know Kris but let's be honest for a sec here, why would the schools most popular guy ever want to be seen with me, let alone be friends or date... I feel like I'm just dragging on my hopes to no avail, like I'm the school nerd and he's the popular sporty jock who every girl would get on their knees for, like I have no chance of even being friends with him" I finished my little rant with " 'oh Gray, you know way less than you think' I still think you should give it a try, maybe something will come out of it, we saw he's different" she tries convincing me, insisting that I continue trying and not give up "I don't know Kris, I'm losing hope..." I countered, obviously trying to get my point across "Well let's see how it goes today then we can decide, sounds good?" I respond with a small fine and start eating my lunch, not moving from my spot on Kristina's lap but she didn't seem to mind "You will be surprised Grayson" Well what is that suppose to mean? I decided to drop the topic and start small talk about how school was and what were our plans for the day and before we knew it lunch period was over and we were off to the rest of our classes.
