As we arrive home, I start to prepare myself for going to New York like we do every year, but my mom stops me. “Honey, we’re not going to New York this year. We’re staying in London.” She informs me.

“Why?” I ask curiously.

“Because of all what’s happening, I don’t want to be away from the Order. And we’ll spend it with the Weasleys. They don’t have their son with them, and at this time it will be hard for Molly. You’ll be with your friend, aren’t you happy about that?” She asks.

“Of course I am. It’s just… What about our family in New York?” I ask her.

“They’ll understand.” She says hesitantly.

“What exactly will they understand? That we can’t go because there is a mad, evil wizard on the loose and we’re trying to fight him? I’d like to watch you explain that.” I laugh. Our family in New York are muggles. They’re my father’s family.

She rolls her eyes, “We told them that our friends here need us.” She explains.

“What if they came? What would they think then?” I challenge her.

She sighs impatiently, “They won’t!”

On Christmas Eve I have dinner with my parents and Xan. We exchange presents, my father brought me a new laptop, he always loves to buy us the newest electronics. I like them but I don’t use them much. My mother on the other hand, got me the most amazing gift ever.

“Power Gloves!” I exclaim in surprise as black fingerless leather gloves are revealed from the wrap. “Oh My God, Mother! How did you get these? They’re so rare. I even thought they were a myth!” I ask her enthusiastically. Power gloves give you the power to do all your spells without having your wand in your hand, they act like a wand, but instead of having one hand in combat you have two.

She smiles happily, “Apparently they’re not. I knew where to look. I was sure you’ll love them.”

“Love them?! Oh my God! That’s the best present ever!” As soon as I say the words I regret saying them. I don’t want to hurt my dad’s feelings. My mom always knows what to bring me, she always understands exactly what I like. My dad always tries, but he doesn’t know about the wizard world like my mom does. And my interests are always in the wizarding stuff.

I kiss my family good night and go to my room. Tomorrow the Weasleys will come here to spend Christmas with us, some of the order members will join as well. I decide to take a warm shower before bed. While I’m in the shower I hear something in my room. I guess it’s Xan, he probably left when he heard the shower water running. I wrap the towel around me and get out of the bathroom to get dressed in my room. When I see him sitting on my bed I gasp and jump in shock, my towel falls on the floor, startled.

“Draco?! What are you doing here?” I ask after I regain my breath, I lean down to pick up my towel. Although he has seen me naked a million times, but I have no idea why I’m so embarrassed right now.

In a moment he’s over me, he holds me up and looks into my eyes with hunger. “I came to give you your Christmas present.” He whispers sweetly. I don’t reply, I kiss him instead. He kisses me back hungrily, he then takes the towel from my hand and throws it away. “That’s better. I guess your present will look good on you without it.” He whispers breathlessly. What is he talking about? Does he consider himself my present? I wouldn’t mind anyway. He gets a small box out of his pocket and opens it revealing a small red diamond shaped as a heart in a thin silver necklace. It’s the size of a fingernail, but beautiful, I love it!
