Part 21 [Jess]

BACKGROUND MUSIC:- Too good at goodbyes (Sam Smith)..

Zane was acting weird yesterday and I didn't know why, all I knew was that I wanted to know what was going on.

Collin's disappearence and Felix's secrets, I had a lot on my plate.

*Ding Dong*

"Come in," I yell from the living room.

The door opens and Felix walks in and he is looking more shallow than ever.

"What do you want?" I ask him without making eye contact.

"Jess I'm sorry," he states blankly.

"Sorry for what exactly?" I ask him.

"Everything."

"You have to be specific."

"Come on Jess, stop with the mind games."

"No you stop, you have to tell me what happened to you all those years when you had disappeared and why you came back changed?"

Felix paused for a minute after being asked the question then he placed his hands in his pockets and stared at the ground.

"I...c..ca....can't," he mumbled

"Of course you can't," I stated," then get out."

Felix turned and reached for the door but paused.

"It was you," he said without looking back.

"Of course it was because of me, you couldn't........."

"Jess could you just be silent for a minute," he cut me off as he turned to face me.

"Fine, go on," I signal him to continue.

"All through the past I lost my parents and with the whole incident going on with being hunted down for my parents crime I was stressed," he stated.

"So?" I asked him," that didn't give you any rights to do what you did."

Felix paused, looked at me, sighed then shook his head and faced the ground.

"I started doing drugs to make me forget the pain," he continued," till I met you."

He paused again to stare into my eyes and I could tell that what he was saying was true.

"You where always happy, even for a nerd you would be so vibrant and welcoming," he said as he back up a bit and turned so I couldn't see his tears," I guess it made me like you and I wanted to be like you, to find the inner peace."

"Then we met and talked and you welcomed me into your inner circle of trust and I guess instead of me seeing that as an opportunity to be friends, I took it to the next level," he paused again and turned to show me that he had been crying all that time, " I thought that you were okay with it and later when you asked me if I loved you I knew I did...."

"But?"

"I got sick, the drugs took their toll and I had to be medicated but through that time I was thinking of you."

"But??"

"Everytime I thought about you the more I wanted to do drugs again because in some way being with you reminded me of the pain I was going through, so...,"

"You had to keep your distance?"

"Yes," he said as he rubbed the back of his neck," I'm really sorry for putting you through all that."

"So what now?" I ask him.

"I'm sorry but we can't happen," he said.

"I understand," I said as I held his hand," I hope you find happiness."

Finding out about Felix was so surprising and I had to understand his situation but now I needed to know my way  forward.

I had to find Collin, but where would I look??

Felix changed his school and left to be with Toni as I kept here to deal with my drama.....
