9- The Remedy Pulls Me Back

-Kellin's POV-

A few weeks had passed, Remington and I were officially an item.

I was packing for tour when I heard Destiny on the phone with someone

-Destiny's POV-

Hello mother

Destiny Alaina Quinn that is no way to talk to your mother!

How would you like me to talk to you? Would you like to me to tell you the way it is?

What do you mean?

Well I could tell you that you're a raging selfish bitch, who has no sense of humanity for disowning Kellin for being who he is. I could call you a hypocrite for raising us to believe that it's okay to be who we are and then disowning one of your children when they finally come to terms with who they are. I could tell you that if you're going to disown one of us, you'll have to disown us both. Quite frankly, I didn't even have to pick up this phone call, but I did, because I thought you were going to apologize

Before I realized what I had said I saw Kellin in my doorway.

I hung up on her and looked up to Kellin

"How much of that did you hear?" I spoke and he came over and hugged me

"Was that mom?" He spoke and I nodded.

"Yeah, I thought she was gonna call and apologize, but I answered with the 'hello mother' as every angry child does and she pulled the 'that's no way to speak to your mother' card so I went off" I spoke, hoping he wound't be angry

'Wow. I feel like the thing that would put the cherry on top would be-"

"Her calling me 'Destiny Alaina Quinn' instead of just Destiny? I know" I cut him off, laughing

"Did she really do that?" He spoke and I frowned

"Unfortunately, yes. Are you packed up and ready?" I spoke and he nodded

"Great, they'll be here soon" I spoke and he just sat down on my bed

"Come here" He spoke and I went to sit down next to him

"I want you to know that I'm proud of you, and that you shouldn't listen to what mom says about you, because she's wrong" He spoke and I smiled

"I know. I just wish she wasn't the way she is. She raised us to always believe in ourselves and to be who we are and then she acts like this" I spoke,a tear slipping down my face

"You wanna know something else she did that I never told you about?" He spoke and I nodded

TW: mentions of a suicide attempt

"When you were in the hospital after your attempt, I texted her so she was aware of the situation and she said that she wasn't going to come see you unless I sent her a picture of your unconscious body" He spoke and I felt my heart shatter.

I hugged him close and spoke

"I'm so sorry you had to go through that" I spoke and he just held me

"It's okay. It wasn't your fault" He spoke and my phone buzzed

"They're here."I spoke and I helped Kellin get all his stuff out the door and I grabbed my stuff, stepping onto the bus I was greeted by Emerson

"Hey Emmy. You okay?" I spoke, he seemed off

"Yeah, I'm okay. I'll show you to the bunks" He spoke and I smiled.

I set my stuff down and found him sitting on the couch

"Are you sure you're alright my love?" I spoke and he looked over at me.

"Yeah. Are you okay? You seem tense" He spoke and I just laid my head down in his lap

"I got into a fight with my mom this morning. Not a big deal" I spoke and he played with my hair.

"But it is a big deal if it's making you sad. You wanna talk about it?" He spoke and I sighed

"She disowned Kellin when he came out and I told her that if she was gonna disown one of us she'd have to disown us both, I hung up before I could hear her response" I spoke and he kissed my forehead softly.

"I'm sorry. I don't really know what it's like to fight with a parent but I can't imagine it's any good" He spoke and in that same moment Kellin came onto the bus.

He looked like he'd been crying.

"Kellin! Hey. What happened?" I spoke and he just sighed. Tossing me his phone

'I hope you're aware that both you and Destiny are a disgrace to the family name. She told me that if I was going to disown one of you I'd have to disown you both, so here's me formally disowning you both, and tell your sisters little boyfriend that he can treat her however he pleases because I'm not saving her from this one'

I felt my eyes water, handing Kellin his phone back

"This one?"  Emerson spoke and I sighed

"It's complicated, but she wasn't even the one that saved me, it was Kellin" I spoke, laying my head back down on his lap

I started dozing off.

Moments later Sebastian came onto the bus being all loud and I woke up.

"Hey, hey. It's alright love, go back to sleep" Emerson spoke, playing with my hair until I fell asleep again

This was gonna be a long tour.
