Chapter 3

Elixx's POV

Kasalukuyang nasa byahe ako ngayon pauwi ng mansyon. Kite is driving and I'm in the backseat.

Napansin kong tingin ng tingin ang assistant kong si Kite sa kin mula sa rearview mirror.

"What?" Malamig kong tanong sa kanya.

"Chief, ayos ka lang ba? Mukhang wala ka sa sarili mo nitong mga nakaraang araw."

I suddenly realized that I'm biting my knuckles habang nakatanaw lang sa labas ng bintana. Agad kong tinigil yun. It became my habit whenever I'm preoccupied or distracted.

"I'm fine." Sagot ko habang nakatingin pa rin sa labas.

That woman should be blamed. I can't think straight dahil sobrang naapektuhan ako sa mga sinabi nya noong huli naming pagtatalo.

"Tutupad ako sa usapan. After a month, this marriage will be nothing but a nightmare to me."

That line keeps on ringing in my head. I can't concentrate with my works and meetings. I became more irate. Isa pa, I expected her to call me and pester me again after our fight, but damn. No calls. Walang paramdam mula sa kanya. Will she really sign that?

This is what I like to happen, right? Yung walang tumatawag lagi at bumubuntot-buntot saken kahit saan ako magpunta.

Maybe I'm not just used to her being like that to me kaya ako nagkakaganito.

Nilingon ko si Kite. "Any update sa ospital?"

Tumingin muna sya saken bago nagsalita. "She's probably home right now, Chief."

Naupo ako ng tuwid sa sinabi nya.

"Home? You mean, nasa mansyon na sya ngayon?"

"Opo. I already settled all the bills kaninang hapon. Wala ng problema."

So, that woman's home, huh? Will she pester me again? Knowing Selene, I bet, kakainin rin nya lahat ng sinabi nya sa ospital last week.

Naagaw ang atensyon ko sa nag ring na cellphone. Tiningnan ko muna kung sino ang tumatawag. Kumunot ang noo ko. It's Beatrice Romano. Sinagot ko ang tawag pero hindi muna ako nagsalita

"Elixx. I heard Selene's discharged. I wanna see her. Please."

This woman sucks in acting. Kung talagang gusto niyang makita si Selene ay dinalaw dapat niya si Selene sa ospital. This woman is to blame why Selene acted so recklessly and lost our child.

That day, when Selene saw Beatrice kissing me inside the office, I know something's odd with her face and I can sense something in her body.

When Selene left the office, I immediately faced Beatrice. I caught her smirking behind me. What the hell?! Nabalot agad ng takot ang mukha nya ng makita ko ang ekspresyon nya sa mukha.

"Get out!" Mariin kong utos.

Hindi agad ito kumilos. "Elixx, di ba ayaw mo naman sa kanya? Bakit nagagalit ka? So, what if she caught us kissing? Does it matter to you?"

I saw her trembled. I just gave her a terrifying look because I just heard the nastiest words I ever heard in my life. How could she betray her own sister?

I suddenly regret letting a snake to freely crawl inside my company.

"Let me correct you, Beatrice. We're not kissing. You kissed me." Agad na namutla ito sa sinabi ko. "And let me tell you this, you just did a big... big... horrible mistake! Now pack your things and leave. I don't mind losing a valuable designer!"

Sa Time Travel nagtatrabaho si Beatrice at sya ang Chief Designer sa T-Travel Watches.

"A-anong ibig mong sabihin?" nanginginig na tanong nya.
