Two Strangers

Chapter 16

“ATE, WAKE UP!” Jules wakes up his older sister Juliette while trying to shake her shoulder. Slowly, Juliette’s eyes opened then turned her gaze to her younger brother whose staring at her while his lips were pouted.

“Wake up, Mommy already left for work. It’ll be just two of us in the dining table. Don’t worry.” Jules smiled.

Juliette got up from her bed then smiled at Jules and messed his hair. “I don’t care if she’s there or not, I can face her Jules.”

Jules smiled get saddened, “Mommy is too mean, last night, she told me that I should stay out of this because I am too young to understand the situation. But, she’s wrong, I understood all of it despite of my age.”

Juliette chuckled weakly, “You’re just 7 year old and you talk like you are grown-up man.”

“I’m a man, not a boy.” Jules smiled sweetly and then hold Juliette’s hand and dragged her out of the room. Juliette just let her younger brother to dragged her towards the kitchen, there’s a smile on her lips.

They immediately sat in on their designated chairs after a few seconds, the maid were already preparing their breakfast and placed it on the table.

“Thank you.” Juliette thanked the maids who just nodded and smiled at her before leaving the kitchen.

The siblings eat their breakfast silently and then after that, Juliette immediately go to her room to get ready for school.

Jules already left after they eat breakfast together, that’s when she noticed that Jules already wore his uniform.

Napapailing nalang sya sa sarili bago lumabas ng kwarto, pababa na sana sya nang salubungin sya ng hindi inaasahang bisita. It was her Tito Orlando the younger brother of her mother.

Tito Orlando automatically smiled when he saw his niece walking down in the staircase. Juliette smiled back at her uncle and give him a hug.

Tito Orlando chuckled as he slowly caressed his niece back. “How are you?”

Juliette let go of the hug, “I’m alright, Tito. What are you doing here?”

“Sending you to school.”

“Eh?”

Tito Orlando laughed, “Jules called me last night, he said Mang Jerry was fired by your mom…” Napailing ito, “…Pagpasensyahan mo na ang mama mo ha? Huwag kang mag-alala, pagsasabihan ko.”

Juliette get saddened, “How? Even if you’ll scold her, she’ll never listen to you. That’s how she is.”

“I’m sorry…”

“For what?”

“That was our parents fault, they didn’t acknowledge her since then, until the day they were gone. Klaudia hate our parents for not acknowledging her deeds  that led her to hatred and pain and when she get married and build her own family, that emotions she thought was already gone never leave, because…she can’t forgive.” Tito Orlando smiled sadly.

Juliette get more saddened and lone of tear fell from her eyes that she quickly wiped it and sighed, “I’m getting late now Tito, can we leave now?”

“Sure darling, Let’s go.”

Juliette was silent in the car while her Tito Orlando was driving. Her mind were wondering about her mother that she did not realize that she was already at school and that her uncle was calling her over and over again.

“S-Sorry.” Juliette said awkwardly then got out of the car. She waved on her Tito as she watched the car leaving, she took a deep breath and prepare herself for another day at school.
