It was dark and barely visible through the fog and the mist but she saw it anyway. It was just above her and she could see the bright lights, hear the loud music and practically smell the food from her place underneath the house. Hidden from view, she tried to plan on how she could take him down without anybody noticing. Parties were always difficult and with a house located up in the hills, even more so. It had taken her quite some time to climb her way up the steep hill using her trekking gear, but now this too? ‘Parties were always difficult’ was an understatement-they were bloody hard-literally. They always ended with her having to eliminate a witness and then having to eliminate another witness to the murder of the first witness, which basically just ended up with everybody getting killed. That is, everybody but her. So, yes, they were bloody and hard but that was what made them so much more enjoyable than the rest of her jobs.

He was enjoying the heavenly scent of the latest dish of food that he’d been served when it happened. One moment, there he was, having a laugh with a gorgeous girl who’d been flirting with him all night and eating small bites of the delicious lasagne, and the next he was lying on the floor with pools of blood all around him. Everybody around him was dead and he’d had no idea of how this had happened, who’d done it and why. All he knew was that one second there he was completely concentrating on his plate of heaven-on-earth and the next moment, he looked up to find everybody he’d ever known taken from him in the blink of an eye. But that wasn’t the worst part either-the worst part was not knowing why.

All he saw was her dark, red hair. It just sort of stood out in the darkness surrounding him, or maybe he was just seeing blood everywhere-thick, dark red blood. So when they asked him what he remembered about her, that was the first thing he told them. The next were her eyes. When she’d turned around to look at him, turned because he’d muttered a hoarse ‘stop!’, that was when he had seen them and he’d never forgotten them since. They were electric blue, like sparks flying out everywhere which was how she got named Electra.

He was the only one to have seen her and survived, let alone catch a glimpse of her. Nobody knew why and nobody questioned it either. All they knew was that he had seen her and that was that. They had her, or atleast they thought they did.
