You're awoken from your nap in the cockpit by the loud whir of the carbon chamber- it was partially broken and neither you nor Din had gotten around to fixing it yet. The sound is accompanied by quiet groans from the bounty hunter himself. Despite it, you smile sleepily.
You don't bother moving from your position either, gently stretching your arms out and pulling the blankets even closer. It's still dark out, so you gaze into the darkness of the planet while you wait.
He climbs up a moment later.
"You never sleep in the cot." He comments, standing just behind the chair you sleep in. Despite his weariness his voice is soft, quiet to match the time of the night.
"Once I'm comfy I don't want to move. It's cold down there without you, anyway." Starting an effort to move, you feel a gloved hand push down on your shoulder to keep you sat. Peering up behind you, you can just about see the edge of his helmet and you smile. "Come to bed with me?"
His moment of silence let's you know what's coming. "I can't. I'm meeting Karga in two days so I need to get us in the air and get things in order."
You pout, but at least his voice is apologetic.
"Okay, but can I stay here for a little while? I missed having you beside me." He nods silently, a fond and soft smile hidden by the helmet. His hand drags down your arm as you stand to move, letting you feel all the affections he has the energy to give.
He's always so much softer after bounties, melting into your affections and giving gentle ones in return. Your favourite thing is to huddle in his cot, keeping each other warm and mumbling him sleepily about the child until you fall asleep in his arms.
Din loves it too, the intimacy of touch and the warmth he can't help but feel at how lovingly you whisper to him. He holds you even tighter when you fall asleep, his own reminder of how much he owes you, just for being there.
Once he settles down in the pilot seat himself, warm from your presence, he keeps his eyes on your sleepy form for as long as he can.
Clad in your comfortables and clutching a ratty blanket, you blush at him timidly and take his hand in yours.
You tug on the velcro, pulling the glove off just a few inches to place your lips on the back of his bare hand. Still, you feel the warmth of his skin and let it run through you.
"Missed you." You repeat quietly, trained on the gentle tilt of his helmet and his body sunk into the chair. You knew he was as tired as you, and that's why you wouldn't leave him in the cockpit alone.
"Y-you too." He pauses, and squeezes your hand back. "Get some sleep, please, mesh'la."
Nodding, you put his glove back on and let yourself fall to the passenger seat behind him. He watches your form in the reflection of the window for a few moments, unbeknownst to your closed eyes, before dragging himself closer to the controls.
