Clint was in the garage again, busy repairing his older car.

"Clint ...?" (Y/n), his girlfriend, asked as she leaned against the door that led into the garage.

"Clint!?" She asked again. He got up with a sigh and looked at her inquiringly. "What's the matter my dear. I'm busy right now!" He said lightheartedly and shrugged his shoulders.

(Y/n) shook her head a little disappointed but had to laugh when she saw that Clint had some oil stuck to his face, because some black colour was smeared all over his face.

"You look a bit like you've cried and your make-up has run off."

Clint ducked a little to look into the car mirror.

He gasped for a brief moment before trying to clean his face with his sleeve, but it only looked worse afterwards.

(Y/n) laughed even mote and shook her head and walked over to Clint. "Have you not planned something today?"

Clint turned to her in confusion and after a few seconds he shook his head.

"Uhm ... no, not that I know of? Why? I only planned to repair the car and then I'll be done, I promise."

Even though (Y/n) was a little downcast that Clint had forgotten her anniversary, she still had to smile a bit.

She loved everything about him, especially his sometimes spoiled way of managing things and trying to hide his stress.

"But I know you, Clint... What if you're done? Great then we have a few days until Fury arrives again and takes you on a new mission, right?"

"Then I ask Fury if he'll let me out of the mission, okay?" He asked before bending down to continue fixing the car.

"But Clint..." (Y/n) put her hand on his shoulder. "What is it..." He muttered, not even looking at her.

"Doesn't matter." She sighed briefly and went back inside. Maybe if she put on one of her best clothes, Clint would notice that today is a special day.

So she decided to do it. She looked out for her best dress and wondered if she should prepare the dinner already.

Sometimes (Y/n) wondered why they even had a dining room, because she and Clint always ate together at the TV, unless they had visitors but they didn't have frequent visits, if only sometimes from Natasha or Steve when he had nothing to do at the moment.

The two of them were always just as busy as Clint himself though and when he had nothing more to do, he always had something new that he would fix or even make new but meanwhile everything was ready in their house.

When (Y/n) finished preparing the food, she carefully placed it on the television table.

Of course, some red wine shouldn't be missing either. They both loved wine more than anyone else.

(Y/n) had also baked a chocolate cake especially because they love cake.

Well... who doesn't like cake for dessert? It was slowly getting dark outside and (Y/n) walked with quiet steps into the garage.

There she saw Clint asleep in a chair next to the car. That idiot. "Clint. Dinner is ready." She mumbled gently and he got up with a jerk.

"Oh man, I didn't even notice that I fell asle-Hey... wait.." He paused for a moment. "Why are you dressed like that?"

(Y/n) looked down at the dress and then back at him sadly. "I imagined our anniversary to be better..." She mumbled and Clint immedietly hugged her.

"I'm so sorry... I would say that I didn't forget it but that would be a lie." He sighed and kissed her forehead gently.

"Look (Y/n), I'm really sorry..." He stammered and she could see in his eyes that he was really sorry.

"Everything's okay, the main thing is that you will spend the evening with me." She smiled a little and Clint copied the gesture.

"Of course, but I just noticed that I should really repaint the wall in our bedroom-"

"Clint. No repairs or renovations in our house." (Y/n) laughed and went to the living room.

When the two had finished eating (Y/n) leaned against the couch." I forgot to tell you that you look stunning in that dress."

She couldn't help but blush a little at his compliment. Usually he was always too busy to compliment her or spend time with her in general. "Thank you, you also look goo-"

"But you'd look better without any clothes." He grinned cockily.

(Y/n) rolled her eyes in amusement and reached for his shirt to pull him towards herself.

She started kissing him and he didn't wait a moment to do the same.

Clint's hands went down to her hips and he held her tightly as he pulled (Y/n) closer to himself. He continued kissing her.

Both not getting enough from each other.

Maybe this day would be a little better after all.
