Rin's P.O.V
I waved a goodbye to my older sister, Meiko, as I walked towards my new school. We had just moved here to start fresh and get away. Why did we want to start fresh? What were we trying to get away from? Froom life. More specifically, my life. Ever since I was little, I've felt... in a way, like an unfinished puzzle. I feel like I'm missing a piece, and nobody can put me completely together. People at my old school and in my neighborhood always made fun of me. It was nearly impossible for me to keep a friend, because they never filled the void.
I sighed and walked into the new school. The deafening noise of hundreds of voices and the large crowd of people swallowed me up. I searched desperately for my locker and eventually found it. Locker 37 in the B wing of the building. I spun the dial a few times before the lock finally clicked open. As I was putting my things away, and unfamiliar voice spoke up. "Hello! Are you the new girl I've heard about? It must suck to start in the middle of the school year. Anyway, what's your name?"
I turned around to look at a girl with long teal twin tails that reached down to her knees. "Um... I'm Rin," I answered her. "What a simple name. Mine's Miku!" she replied back. What an obnoxious girl... Her voice is so high. "Do you suck helium by chance?" I blurted out before I could give it a second thought. She made a disgusted face and slammed her locker. Locker 39.
Just my luck. I've already made an enemy and she's two lockers down from me. She stormed off in what seemed to be an attempt of making a dramatic exit. I watched as she walked into a boy with yellow hair and fell; her skirt flying up and the books she was holding scattering everywhere. The boy stopped and turned to her, his eyes dull and seemingly lifeless. "Are you okay, Miku?" he mumbled and offered a hand. "You're such a clutz, Len!" she shrieked at him and smacked his hand away. I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up.
Len? Why did that name sound eerily familiar?
I shook my head and continued watching the two. "I'm sorry... are you okay?" he asked Miku again. He seemed persistant on remaining nice. "Just pick up my books, you baka!" she shouted and stood up, straightening out her skirt. I saw the blond boy's jaw clench in anger. "Pick them up yourself, you damn drama queen," he spat. He turned and started walking in the opposite direction, his head jerking to the side slightly.
Who was that? I wondered as I walked to my first period class. Is he a third year like me? I couldn't keep my mind off of the strange boy in the hall. He looked very similar to myself. I had the same shade of yellow hair, and if he were to take out the hair band that held up his small ponytail, our hair would probably be around the same length. We also both had blue eyes, though his were a bit darker than my own. What had Miku called him? I forgot his name already...! "Damn.." I mu,mbled as I sat down in a desk. I placed my books underneath of the seat and zoned off; still thinking about him.
Len's P.O.V:
"That Miku is such a little bitch.. I'm not letting her push me around anymore. I'm done with it," I fumed silently in my seat and drummed my fingers against the desktop. "Wait, who was that other girl I saw behind Miku?" I continued whispering to myself. I turned around in my seat as I heard snickering behind me. "Talking to yourself again, Kagamine?" a guy with long, deep purple hair tied back in a ponytail jeered from the desk behind me. I sighed, dismissing the teasing. I couldn't have a rage incident...not here, not now. I turned around, my back to him once again.
"What exactly is wrong with you? You're so quiet and creepy, he continued. " People see you take those pills. Ya damn freak; what are you, a drug addict?" he just kept pushing the subject. What an asshole. "Answer me, shorty!" he shot at me. I felt something sharp poke roughly at my shoulder blade. Sucking in a deep breath, I spun around in my seat and saw him holding a pencil. "What the hell! Leave me alone, bastard!" I shouted at him, a little too loudly. I tried to control myself, but he stabbed me again with the point of the pencil, this time in the center of my chest. I grabbed the sides of his desk and flipped it over, along with him in it, as the chair was connected to the desk. I got oddly strong when I was mad. He let out a yell as he hit the ground, and with my luck, just as the teacher walked into the classroom. "Great..." I murmured.
Rin's P.O.V:
I tried to peer out of my classroom door as some of the other students in the room also did. There had been yelling and a loud crash a few moments ago. What happened? Was there a fight? I was about to shrug it off when I saw a teacher drag the boy from earlier out of the classroom across the hall, and into the hallway. The tall, brunette teacher with glasses looked pissed as he pulled the blonde boy by his arm. A worred expression spread across my face as they disappeared out of sight. I tapped my foot nervously for the remainder of the class, and soon enough, the bell rang.
Second class of the day.. New school... I took a deep breath. Here we go..
