"Has anybody been able to contact... Carrie? My mom and dad are freaking out!" Luke groaned, jumping onto the couch. 

"She's been ignoring my calls and ditching school. It's weird. Daniel has been looking for her and trying to call her, but Kaitlyn has just.. given up" Madison spoke. 

Corey was about to speak up, when he was cut off by his phone. "Hang on, it's my girlfriend. She says she has news about Carrie." Corey ran off into the bathroom, whilst Luke and Madison looked at each other. 

"Her names Addison. They met at a restaurant, when he was with Samantha Jones on some sort of date." Luke filled Madison in. 

Corey came rushing into the basement (where the teens hang out whilst at Luke's house). "I-It's Carrie! Addison took Carrie in after fighting with Kaitlyn! Apparently Carrie was stressed, and something happened to the baby!" 

Madison and Luke jolted up "GET TO THE CARS! GO! GO! If anybody asks- we are running from aliens!" Corey, Luke and Madison wasted no time running to the cars. 

Madison drove, and got them to the hospital within ten minutes. "We're here.. to.. see.. Carrie Seavey! We're her cousins!" Luke caught his breath. "Room 252, Floor two." The lady at the front desk spoke, not even looking up. 

The trio ran to the stairs, ran up them and to her room. Bursting in, Addison jumped up from her seat- whilst Carrie screamed. 

"Carrie Anna Seavey! You are in some deep shit-" Madison was cut off by the sound of a cough from behind her. 

"Oh, hey dad- DAD! W-What are you doing here?" Luke stuttered. "Luke, I was here because- wait.. Carrie, is something wrong with the baby?" Zach walked in. 

"She had a miscarriage sir. The foetus will come out naturally seeing as she was five weeks. A doctor will be in soon to give you treatment options." The nurse smiled before walking out. 

"Oh honey... I am.. sor-" Carrie sighed. "I miscarried a week ago. I knew but I didn't want anybody else to know. I'm only young, my body wasn't ready for that. I knew that. It may sound bad but I'm relieved. I wasn't ready to be a mom." 

"We get that. But your mom and dad have been going crazy looking for you! Well, Daniel has. Kaitlyn doesn't care." Zach sighed. 

"I'm moving to Portland. I need a new start. Nonno (Daniel's family is part Italian, Nonno is Italian for Grandpa) said yes, Nonna (Italian for grandmother) has a room for me. People will know me, but I'll keep to myself. This is our secret." Carrie was engulfed into a hug by everybody in the room. 

"Daniel should know. Or he'll go mental. Can we tell him?" Zach asked, to which Carrie nodded. "I'll call him, sir." Corey left the room and the room was silent. 

*Zach's POV- twenty minutes ago* 

"Hey Reese.. How are you feeling?" I sighed, looking at my little sister, who laid on the hospital bed. "Luke started senior year. Carrie is pregnant. Corey's dating again. Madison... is closed off. Nobody knows why." 

For the past two months, Reese was stuck in the hospital. She lost her voice box in order to save her life. I learnt sign a few years ago, when she first fell sick and stopped talking. So I could understand her signs. 

"That's amazing. I want to see Luke. The doctors say I might not make it.. I want to say goodbye. I didn't get to say Goodbye to mom and dad, I don't want to leave without my goodbye." Reese signed. 

"You won't die bubba. I know you won't.." I sniffled, sitting next to her. "I'm going to. The doctors said I would. Please. Bring him tomorrow. And bring Alexis. She's my favourite." Reese smiled. 

"Should I call Ryan and Nora?" I asked, and she nodded. "In this notebook, is everything I want for my funeral." Reese handed me a rainbow notebook. 

"When I first fell sick, I made it. Just in case." I heard running from the halls. "I'll get it sorted. I'm gonna go get a drink.. Hang in there bubba." 

I lied. I was going to check out the noise. Room 252. Weird. "Carrie Anna Seavey! You are in deep shit-" I coughed.

I just wanted to say this. Miscarriage is something extremely serious. It should not be joked about. I had either 2 options for this chapter. Either k*ll Carrie or cause her to Have a miscarriage. 

I choose option two. I also want to say- I know very little about miscarriages. So I apologise if any information about this topic is wrong.. 

And for Reese, I realised I needed a reason for Zach to be in the hospital. I knew I wanted it to be about his family, but Not Myta and Josh (They passed in a car accident, they didn't say goodbye. This is just for the story, Myta and Josh are very much alive) 

Reese has a condition (in the story) called Total laryngectomy. It removes your larynx (voice box), and you won't be able to speak using your vocal cords. After a laryngectomy, your windpipe (trachea) is separated from your throat, so you can no longer send air from your lungs out through your mouth to speak.

The reason she had to have her voice box removed is due to Cancer of the larynx. 

Only Zach and Ryan know about the cancer Reese has. 

Cancer is not something to joke about either. I've lost my grandparents on my mothers side to two different cancers. When I was five, my nan passed from Breast Cancer. Nearly two years ago, I lost my grandfather to Lung Cancer. 

I just wanted to address this issues in the chapter. Love you guys ❤️
