R Y A N

We all walked into the hospital room that my younger sister was in. It hurt me seeing Reese here, but I knew she was dying. I knew since she was 16. I found her, hurling over the toilet bowl.

"Reese? Are you okay?" I asked, rushing into the bathroom. "Uh yeah, I was at a party last night, it's a hangover." She mumbled before continuing to empty her insides.

"Reese, yesterday was family night Friday... You weren't at a party." I rolled my eyes. "Ryan, can you book me a doctors appointment? Don't tell anybody. Please" I sighed, looking at my sick sister.

"Okay. Let me know if you need anything. Okay?" I smiled and walked out to call the doctors office.

"Reese Herron?" The doctor called. Reese and I stood up, following the doctor. "So from what we've seen in our charts, you have been nauseous, severe dizziness and... pain shooting through your body?"

Reese nodded and I held her hand. "We'll have to put you under a couple of tests because this isn't something normal. Sir, who is Reese to you?" The doctor asked me.

"I'm her older brother. I'm the one who booked the appointment. I can't have our parents worrying." I responded.

"Okay. We'll get those tests done today, and we'll call in a few days." The doctor smiled at us.

And that was the day I found out my sister was dying. At first, they thought it was cancer to the throat. But after more testing, they discovered that wasn't it. Total laryngectomy. For the past 12 years, she's been fighting for her life.

Reese is the strongest person I know. She's my baby sister, I love her so much. But I know, she'll be at piece in Heaven. Or Hell. I'm pretty sure she's going to Heaven though. She better or else I'll be pissed.

One Month Passes

It's been a month, the day we all visited, she passed later that night. She was so excited for Nora and I. We promised that Rj would know so much about her aunt, she'll be sick of hearing our stories by the time she's 9.

Right now, Nora and I where on our way to her funeral. She wanted it to be happy. Instead of mourning her life, she wants us to celebrate it. So, whilst Nora wore a rainbow dress, I wore a blue suit.

Alexis, Kaitlyn, Tate, Gabbie and Hayley was wearing the Same as Nora, Zach, Daniel, Jonah, Jack and Corbyn in the same as me. Luke wanted to wear a pink suit, Corey in a rainbow suit, Madison and Carrie wearing yellow dresses.

Reese wasn't the biggest fan of Hayley, but asked for her to be there. Only so Corey could have somebody to support him, because let's be honest- men suck at comfort. Women do it better.

"Babe, we're here. Remember, celebrating. Not Mourning." Nora snapped me out of my trance, causing me to jump a little. I took my seatbelt off and jumped out of the car.

"Ryan. Are you okay?" A news reporter asked as I began walking. What the hell? How'd they find the location of the funeral?

"Look, Reese is my sister. Which is why, I'd like you ALL to leave. I'd like Reese's funeral to be private. No reporters. I do not mean to be harsh- I just don't want anybody here. Thank you." I grabbed Nora's hand and walked to the church.

We were the first ones here. "Why are news reporters leaving? How'd they find the location?!" Zach yelled, walking in. "Okay 1. Don't yell in a church. And 2. I don't know how they found us but I told them ALL to leave." I explained.

Zach sighed and hugged me. "Thanks Ry.." He sighed into my ear. I just nodded and removed his arms off me. I miss Reese so much.
