[Location - Yamabuki Bakery]
[1st Person POV - Katsuhiko]
"You're pretty early, you know that?" says Saaya-san as she poked her head through the door to see me in their kitchen. I turned to her with a tray of freshly baked goods. Holding the tray with a pair of gloves, of course.
"Hey, you did ask if I can work here everyday, right? So I took the privilege to do so." I replied as I hand over the tray to her.
"Well.. yeah I said that.... But, we didn't technically say that you need to come to work early." She says with a nervous smile. "So, there's really no need for you to be here before Six AM just to attend to your part-time job."
"No, it's okay. I did this because I wanted to." as she took the tray from my hands. I then took off the gloves. Patting it lightly to remove the remains of flour that had been stuck onto it while I was mixing earlier.
Note to self, don't place those gloves nearby your work station if you don't want it to be dirty otherwise.
"You can just hang it up right over there." Saaya-san said, pointing towards the small nail stuck onto the wall. I did as she told and hung up the gloves with no sweat. "Good work." She says as she rewarded me with that soft smile of hers.
I then began to take a whiff out of the freshly baked batter from the tray in which Saaya-san holds. "Ah, one of the reasons why i want to work early is that I wanted to smell these in the morning." I took another whiff out of the sweet aroma of these baked goods.
"Now now, I don't want you to drool over them. We don't want the customers to eat saliva flavored doriyaki's now, do we?" Saaya-san said with a giggle, snapping me out of my daze as I shook my head. "I thought you assumed that if you work early, your pay will increase?"
"You thought." I replied with a light-hearted chuckle. Resting both my hands beside my hips. She giggled in response as well before making her way towards the shelves tray in hand.
Meanwhile, I went back inside the kitchen and decided to wash up my hands for a bit. That strange feeling when you wiggle your fingers after soaking it with wet flour? I need that off of me...
Turning the faucet off, i then dry my hands with a towel. Wiggling my little fingers in order to make sure that squeaky feeling is out of my skin.
As I make my way back towards the bakery again, I run into Saaya-san's mother, who still seems to be wearing her apron. "Thank you for helping out, Natsuki-kun." She said to me with a genuine smile.
I smiled back and lightly shrugged my shoulders. "It is my job anyways."
Both of us head to the bakery area and there I saw Saaya-san still at the shelves, placing each of the baked buns on it's respective shelf whilst using tongs. I then went in front of the counter, leaning my back against it whilst crossing my arms.
"Saaya. I can take over now." Mrs. Yamabuki said to her.
"It's alright, I'm almost done here." Saaya-san responded. "Yosh, There we go." She then walked towards our direction with the empty tray in her arms. "I'll go and wake Jun and Sana. You guys should take a break."
"Hai hai." Her mother replied with a smile. Meanwhile on the other-hand I only nodded to her in response.
Saaya-san hummed afterwards before she left to call on her two siblings. "She's a responsible one, that girl." I let out a small chuckle.
"She is indeed getting more on to that manner nowadays, ever since that day.."
"That day...?" I responded with a tone of curiousity. Mrs. Yamabuki looked at me with realization in her eyes.
