chapter 20

i'm gonna put a TW here for everything so read with caution :)

we were all having a decent time, they would've liked this. until we were interupted by the worst person.

"why hello everyone! how are we ok this fine morning?"

"good thanks! how are you?" i ask it to try to piss him off because i'm not crying anymore. that's what he wants. us to have no hope. to fall in despair yet it's not happening.

"i'm feeling fantastic thank you! and i'm here to give you your next motive!" we all looked at eachother with dread. another motive? so there's going to be another killing? 12 medium sized boxes appeared in front of us each wrapped in a bow and had name tags. "these little beauties are your motives! they are all items that will motivate you to kill in some way. happy killing and oh yeah if you don't get caught, i have a special prize!" he then disappeared.

"what should we do with them?"

"we open them, or be punished. i don't think they will give us all maid dresses..." i went over and picked up my box. i could smell metal, i suddenly had a wave of excitement at the possibility of a machine to tinker with! as clocks and toasters are getting really boring. i open in it and it's a wrench, but not just any wrench.

i immediately drop it in shock. how did they get this? how? i look over and see gundham open his box and close it again. totally not phased by the item it contained. i hear screams, akane and chiaki. i look over and they are both holding ruby necklaces. i recognise them from somewhere...

sonias execution...

that's horrible. monokuma literally gave them sonias corpse. i don't know what to do as i stand there just looking around in shock. as dread and fear filled everyone's faces as they looked at their items. i started to breathe faster. the room got smaller as i looked at the wrench. the cries of the other students fading away as i just looked at the wrench in my hand. every single experience replayed in my head. that one time he hit me with it for being late to work, the time he hit me with it for tinkering with a bike from the shop. numerous events played in my head, i just wanted it to stop. please, stop. please please please. wait, gundham can help! where is gundham? my vision was majorly blurry. i heard gundhams voice but it sounded distant. i could hear him calling my name but he sounded far away. i continued to sob and fell to the ground the wrench falling out of my hand and onto the floor beside me. i suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder and snapped out of it. i flinched at the touch. i slowly look up to see a teary eyed gundham looking at me. "my dark prince, how are you feeling, are you alright?"
"what the fuck just happened?"
"i'm not sure but i have a feeling it was to do with the cursed object provided by monokuma." i tilted my head to see what he was talking about but it has pushed right back to face gundham. "my love, i cannot have you going into such a state again. it's not good for you." i slowly nodded in agreement still a little taken back by it all. i look around the room to just see people looking at me with pity. i hate pity.
"why don't we have a quiet day in our residence for now hmm? so we can just 'chill' as you say"
"y-yeah sounds good..." i say, still taking in what has happened. gundham hesitantly grabs my hand and carefully helps me stand up. he reaches behind me and grabs something, putting it in his pocket and we slowly walk off together.

we walked in and gundham told me to just lay down on the bed. i did as he hold me and just laid down. i stared up at the ceiling for a few seconds. or that's what if felt like. i didn't even see gundham get into bed with me and put his arm around my waist. i snapped out of my small trance when i heard gundham speaking to me.
"my dark prince are you alright?"
"what? oh yeah i'm fine i just zoned out that's all." i cuddled him back when he pushed me down to be the little spoon. we both just sat there in each other's embrace with a satisfying silence. gundham spoke up first.
"my paramour, if you do not mind me asking, what happened in the cafeteria." i tried to explain the feeling, but started crying halfway. it was really hard to describe. he just cuddled me more and whispered soft words of comfort as we both fell asleep.

i awoken to terrible pain in my arm. i wanted to scream in pain but for some reason i couldn't. i just didn't have the fighting left in me, i heard footsteps come in and that dreadful noise once again.

*ding dong bing bong*

"a body has been discovered!"

monokuma rambled on about the class trial and investigation while i saw mikan examining me and shouting something to a figure in the background. who quickly ran away. i closed my eyes and went back to sleep.

i woke up in a hospital bed. the pain in my arm still there. i looked to see mikan at my side.
"h-hey souda! i'm happy you're awake!" i then heard her whisper something into a walkie talkie and smile at me.
"what happened."
"well it's a lot to take in are you sure you're ready?" i nodded.
"a total of 5 of our classmates were killed...

gundham being one of them."

the world felt like it was on pause, i was totally alone. the love of my life was gone. and there is nothing i could do about it.

"all the victims were gundham, peko, fuyuhiko, nekomaru, mahiru and what they intended to be you. monokuma also informed us that there were 2 killers but since they didn't pay attention to the rules of 2 kills per day rule he's not bothering with us doing an investigation. the trial is beginning soon. i am truly sorry for your loss is there anything you need." i heard her but i just didn't respond. i just stared at nothing. he was gone. i couldn't believe it. i would never see him again...

~skip to trial~

"now i would like to announce the killers and their motives! as they have broken the rules and killed more people than they should've i'm exposing them this time! ooh hajime watch out i'm stealing your gig!" he then placed an ahoge on his head. "now your killers are... CHIAKI NANAMI AND AKANE OWARI!" everyone looked at them in dread as they looked down. obviously ashamed of what they did. i just looked at them.

"who killed who?" i said in a neutral voice. too
upset to put any energy into it.

"it doesn't matter! they both collectively killed your boyfriend!"

"DONT YOU DARE MENTION HIM! YOU DONT DESERVE TO EVEN THINK ABOUT HIM! I WOULD DO ANYTHING TO GET HIM BACK! I-I-I I WOULD KILL ALL OF YOU MYSELF TO GET HIM BACK!" i charged at akane and chiaki. only to be stopped by hajime and ibuki. i bit hajime and charged at them again. this time knocking them onto the floor.
"WHY? WHY DID YOU KILL HIM? WHAT REASON IS SOOO GOOD THAT YOU KILLED HIM HEY?!" i held chiaki by the collar while she stuttered
"i-i"
"WHAT SPIT IT OUT?"
"he was going to t-take sonia from us!" i dropped her to the floor.
"what the fuck do you mean? she's dead! you're not that delusional are you?!"
"we have sonia in these necklaces you moron! you wanted to take her from us! we couldn't let that happen!" akane piped in.
i just stood there, rage coursing through my veins. i couldn't even look at them.
"now then before kazuichi kills them for me it's punishment time! and because they did it all to protect sonia, they will go out the exact same way!"

chiaki and akane were in the castle standing next to a cardboard sonia. sonias execution was replayed but in this one cardboard sonia, chiaki, and akane died. their corpses all lay on the ground together.

"now that we have 5 survivors you will all follow me to the trial to unmask the mastermind!"

next chapter is the finale. and i did it i tagged my friend again this chapter because she always helps so show them some love! i'm really excited to write next chapter but get ready to feel...
