" 'Stand up, Kiribati; Stand up, Kiribati'. Yes Mamma, everything will be rightly placed just as it was before. The sea is gone again far away from our drowned yards, from our little primal education center. Now we can again do study, can play on the garden. The monster has gone far, over that mangrove forest. Look Mother (Sunrie's showing the forest with fingers). We are safe now Mamma."She is so happy to have her mother in her arms. But her mother is silent, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Mom.. Mamma ... what happened again? Why are you upset now? We will be in our own country together. We will not leave anything nor anyone have to go another land leaving our homeland."
Everything starts blurring, her mother is fading away in that blue sea, her homeland is going away. And she screams in fear calling her mother, "Mamma....!!!" She's immediately being woken up and looks around, tears are streaming down. Her breath coming out in shaky rasps as she's shivering violently.
"Mamma...!! Where have you gone ? Where is our land, Mamma?", Says she crying aloud. Her voice has gone nearly for crying aloud and calling her mother.
She's been calling her mother and crying, but her desperate queries are met with sobs and chilling silence where other refugees are sleeping silently like all of them are dead and amidst them, Sunrie has only life.
She after a while becomes silent again and merges with that deep silence. It seems like she's huddled herself again in a corner of her dank cell.
It was like a cyclone of memories that has stormed into her frightened, fainted mind. Her eyes are still Welling her gray-blue eyes up with tears downing with the swarthy cheeks .
This is the dark night. In that late deep night, the blue darkness has cloaked all over the vicinity where only the silence is ruling over here and there, near and far.
In the midst of this silence, Sunrie takes her place and leans back on the corner of the tent, and her eyes remains tearful. In awhile, her exhausted, tired eyes slowly shut, and the deep silence showers again over the area. The area which is only made for the refugees came from the drowned island 'Kiribati' by the host land.
The tent where Sunrie stays.👍
