~~Zailan's point of view~~
~Four months later~
Four months have passed. It's been amazing. The dealership opened and is thriving; I did have to hire certified techs to work on cars. I also had to hire people to help run the place. We couldn't do it with just the three of us, and the next group of kids to come out are years away. I knew that when I did this. I wanted all established because there are several coming out then.
Rayne and I also sat down with Mama and Rob. We had one hundred and fifty-eight empty apartments. Rayne came to me with the idea of making the last two floors available to low-income families. I was impressed that she came up with it. She surprised me. She amazes me every day.
We worked with the state and got approved for it. We were able to fill them quickly; we have single moms and dads. Rayne absolutely loves her job. She is good at it too, Dennis and George are also. There have been ups and downs, but it has all worked out better than I thought it would. Four months in, and we're all thriving.
Today is the day I go to court to adopt Raynebow. They made me wait an additional month. Not because of me. That was the backlog. Rayne and I both decided to work. Our time is at three, so we can work most of the day.
We did work together, and Raynebow now sleeps in her room. We alternated laying in her bed with her until she went to sleep. It worked for us. She has done fantastic with it; I am incredibly proud of her. I can't wait to make her officially mine.
Rayne and I have a great relationship. I love her more than I ever thought I could love anyone. Our relationship has grown leaps and bounds. I don't tell her, but I still struggle with our physical relationship. It's amazing, don't get me wrong. I still can't touch her in the ways I want to. When I try to talk to her about it, she shuts me down. So, I just let it go.
I'm sitting at my desk when my door opens, and she walks in. She takes my breath away. She doesn't even know the full effect that she has on me. It's something I can't even explain, so I can't expect her to understand it.
Zailan: "Hey Baby, where is Raynebow?"
Rayne: "George took her as soon as I came in."
Those boys love my child. They have both commented that she is the little sister that they never had. They would do anything for her. I think they needed her as much as she needed them. They are her uncles, and that is what matters. They are like my kids as well. There are times I have to parent them. They are both barely legal.
Rayne makes her way to me and kisses me. Since we work so close to each other, both offices have been christened with our very active sex life. That isn't why she is here, though. I had sent her a text telling her we needed to talk, and we do. It's about time for us to leave for court, and I asked her to come over a little early.
Rayne: "Everything ok?"
Zailan: "Yes. I just wanted to let you know that after we leave the courthouse, there is somewhere we need to go."
Rayne: "Where is that?"
Zailan: "I have another home in the area. I need to go there and get some of my personal things. I was thinking about moving us there; then I realized it isn't safe for Raynebow. So, I just need to go grab some stuff and lock it up. I need to before it gets colder out."
Rayne: "Ok."
I can see something is on her mind. She goes there a lot, and when I ask, she pushes me away. She doesn't talk about things that are on her mind, and that worries me sometimes. I do know she will talk to Breeze. Breeze tells me if it's something I should be concerned with. So far, she hasn't come to me about anything.
