We were gone. I thought to myself as I closed the door to her room. She didn't remember me. I walked through the waiting room past the people I loved who all wore faces of pleading and sorrow. Ruth got up and walked after me.
'Percy-' she started. I put up my hand up with my back turned. I just wanted her to stop.
'Percy don't you dare do this, look at me.'
I spun around, glaring at her.
'What' I spat.
'You can't do this to us not now. You can't turn your back on us'
'She doesn't remember me. She doesn't remember anything! She doesn't even remember starting College or the pool she doesn't remember us.' I yelled. I had never yelled at Ruth, hell I'd never even gotten angry at her. Even when she put Annabeth in this position.
Ruth flinched and I saw her tense up.
'I know Percy. I wish she didn't remember me,not you... but I could see it in her eyes when you came into the room. She knows you. She just needs to remember who you are to her.'
I turned quickly.
'I'm going. Now' I said through clenched teeth.
I heard Ruth slam the door into the waiting room as I left the Hospital.
I focused on driving on the way home. I pushed Annabeth out of my mind.
I saw a few of my neighbors look at me confused as I ran up the stairs to our... My, door to my apartment muttering to myself.
'Why doesn't she remeber'
Running up the stairs I felt my stomach clench as I came to my room.
I tore the drawers open ripping out her clothes. I stuffed all the clothes into garbage bags and threw them into the laundry. The pain and loss was too much for me.
All I saw was her. She was around every corner. Behind every door. She was where I knew she wouldn't be. She clouded my vision as I screamed.
'She doesn't remember!' I screamed through clenched teeth as I snatched all the picture frames off the dresser. The sound of glass shattering was all I could hear. It blocked out her words. Percy? Who's Percy?
' I'm Percy' I roared at the war raging inside me.'I'm Percy!' I said I little yelled walking over to the wall.
I clenched my fists as I rested my head against it.
Clench, Un clench. I told myself.'I'm Percy' I said in a normal tone.
'I'm Percy' I said softly.
I closed my eyes slowly.
'I'm your Percy' I whispered to the girl who I no longer belonged to. Who just didn't remember.
