Chapter 5 : Starting The Search

Sophie's POV

"It was me though... How could it not be me? It's all my fault! I did this and how am I going to fix it?!" Liz said, starting to pace. I flinched, I hated to see her stressed or anxious.

It wasn't just her fault. It was also mine. "It's my fault too... I gave you that Necklace as a token of our friendship, ... And it probably wasn't the best idea." She sighed. I decided that in order for Liz to feel better... Maybe.. "Well there's only one thing we can do." I started, getting her attention. "We need to find the Necklace and investigate on what happened to it."

Jeez I could have worded that better... That's not important here. 'Get your head in the game Sophie, stop thinking about grammar!' I mentally scolded myself. Liz looked at me, "So you aren't gonna leave me?"

"Of course not! I won't give up on our friendship so easily, and after all, how hard can it be to find a necklace?" She nodded and we started the investigation. "So, where did you put it last?"

We went out to the roofed part of the back porch, where my mom was scrolling her phone. "Do you need anything girls?" She asked, taking a drink of her coffee. Yes. Coffee in the evening. Personally I didn't understand. Anyway, "yeah, have you seen Liz's necklace?"

She shook her head, "No, I'm sorry. I hope it turns up!" She said. Still not knowing if it was here Liz and I searched the back porch, under the chairs, tables and anywhere else it might be till there was no other place to look. Liz looked sad as we went back inside. "Don't worry Liz, we'll find it!" I reassured.

"Are you sure? What if we don't..?"

"We WILL. I won't stop till it's found. I won't let this necklace beat our friendship,"

If only we knew the adventure that would follow as we set out to interview everyone who had been in the pool...
