Liz's POV

I held my hair in the shape of a pony tail and wrapped my hair tie around it 3 times. I was going swimming with Sophie and her friends. I loved swimming and splashing around the pool. It was  always so much fun!

I tugged on my pony tail one last time, just to make sure it wouldn't fall from it's place when I went swimming. I fiddled with My necklace as I looked at my reflection in the mirror. Should I take my necklace off for swimming? I don't want to...But...I don't want to lose it either-

"Liz!" I heard Sophie call from the other side of the bathroom door. "You almost ready?" "Yeah....Coming." I answered. I opened the door and walked with Sophie outside to the pool. "I'll jump in the pool in a sec." I told her. "Ok." She said and gave me a thumbs up.

I unhooked my necklace from the chain and took it off. "Where should I put it?" I whispered to myself. I saw a small Table next to one of the sitting chairs and decided to put it on there. That should be a safe place right? Yeah. It'll be fine there.

I turned around and headed to the pool. "Cannon Ball!" I yelled as I jumped into the pool with a big splash. Everyone started laughing, and the fun began.

We played Marco Polo and many other pool games before it was time to get out. I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my shoulders. "That was fun." I told Sophie. "Yeah, I Wish it lasted longer." She said. "Me too...But its getting dark outside.." I said.  We went into the house to get dinner, But then one thing crossed my mind. My Necklace.

I turned back towards the door and, told Sophie I would be right back. The sun was almost gone, Which meant I didn't have much time. I walked over to the little table I had set the necklace on, only to see that it wasn't there.

My Mind raced to the thought of where it could be. I thought I left it right there. Did I accidentally move it somewhere without noticing? Where could it be?!

"Liz! You coming back inside?" I heard Sophie call from the house. "Y-yeah....coming..." I answered her. I glanced around one last time before walking back to the house....

"What were you doing out there?" Sophie asked. With a look of concern on her face. "I plastered a fake smile on my face and told her I was just looking for my Sweater.

I could tell she didn't believe me and wanted to know why I was really out there, but she decided not to push the issue. We walked back inside and stood in line for dinner. But I wasn't thinking about dinner...they only thought I had was.....Where. Was. The Necklace. And better yet....Was this they end of me and Sophie's friendship?
