As the magical shield expands ever outward, blooming over the castle grounds, Maui sighed, looking at the shield in worry and despair. She placed her head on Fred's shoulder who smirks at her.

"Are you afraid?" asked Fred, "I'll stay with you. Don't worry."

"I know you will be." smiled Maui.

"You okay, Freddie?" asked George, as he approached them.

"Yeah," nodded Fred, "Maui?"

"All right." She sighed, "Stay safe boys, I wish you all the luck in the world."

"Luck does not work, Maui."

"Shut up, Fred. I was having a moment."

The three laugh, and slowly their smiles has faded.

"But seriously," she turned to the twins. "Stay safe."

"Stupefy!" yelled Maui, as she huffed, the Death Eater that sneered at her got thrown back, as Maui runs through the huge crowd of students and death eaters duelling.

"Filthy Mudblood!!" one yelled, Maui narrowed her eyes as the Death eater was about to throw a spell at her, she deflected it and she continued to run.

Looking around for familiar red hairs, she spots two near the stairs. She ran up, and saw Fred.

"Fred!"

"Maui!"

"Before you ask, I'm fine." She panted, grabbing his hand as the two continued to fight off the Death Eaters. "By any chance you've got some of those Dungbombs?"

"Unfortunately, not, love." He shook his head, Maui smirked and saw Percy approach. They fought, many spells going back and forth, hitting the walls and some on the floor.

"Hello, Minister!" bellowed Percy, sending a neat jinx straight at Thicknesse, who dropped his wand and clawed at the front of his robes, apparently in awful discomfort. "Did I mention I'm resigning?"

"You're joking, Perce!" shouted Fred as the Death Eater he was battling collapsed under the weight of three separate Stunning Spells.

"At least something good as happened in the war," chuckled Maui, she turned to Fred with a smirk. Maui was then thrown back to the wall with a stunning spell.

"Maui!" yelled Fred, then to the death eater: "Stupefy!"

He helped her up, Fred saw some sort of light that was shining outside the window. His eyes widen, he throws Maui to the side with a yell.

Maui flew through the air, and world around her was moving in slow motion, her hand that was holding out to Fred only felt his fingertips touch hers and his eyes were on hers. Then the world became faster again, she landed on her back, and shielding her head in her arms.

Blood dripped down from her forehead, her arm that hit the rocks were gashed. She heard the screams, and the yells, her vision was blurry from the smoke around. Maui coughed, her light brown hair covered with dust. Her eyes searched for anyone near her, when she noticed Fred laying on floor...

Unmoving.

"Fred?" She coughed, crawling to him. "Fred? Fred! Freddie! Come on, please be joking."

She reached him, her hand flying to her mouth. She sees his head bleeding, swallowing the lump on her throat.

"Fred!" She shook him, tears forming in her eyes. "Come on, Freddie. You can't....you can't be—"

She places a hand on his cheeks, she felt it was cold. She shook her head, a sob escaping her lips.

"No—no—no!" She shouted, "No! Fred! Stay with me, you can't leave me. No. Not now."

She sobbed on his chest, holding his hand. Ron and Percy approached Maui, Percy dropping next to her, his eyes filled with tears.

"Come on, Fred..." she whispered, "You said you'll stay with me..."

Fred's eyes stared without seeing, Maui sobbing and whispering something to his body, hoping, for one miracle, that he is still alive.

"Freddie..." she choked on her sob, she looked up at his eyes. She placed a kiss on his lips before standing up and running away, killing everything that comes her way.

"Maui! Get back here!" yelled George.
