Iris placed her books down her desk, its now Potions and a certain girl caught her eye. Hermione Jean Granger. The bushy haired Gryffindor who is really intelligent. She and Hermione had been talking since their first year, when Iris was helping the girl with the troll thing. They became good friends, until fourth year, when Iris saw Hermione with Krum and her beautiful blue dress...she realised she wanted to become more.

Iris pushed her hair back into a low ponytail as she stood beside Hermione who smiled at her. She gave her a small smile, and the butterflies inside her stomach flew around.

She cursed to herself and she looked away instantly, Hermione blinked and looked away, her face falling into disappointment.

"Good morning class, turn to page 493." drawled Snape, in his usual bored monotone. Iris searched for her book in her bag but she couldn't find it.

"Miss Greene, may I ask where is your book?" Snape asks, narrowing his eyes.

Iris gulped as she grips her yellow tie, she smiled nervously. "Uhh...I forgot it, sir."

"3 points from Hufflepuff." said Snape, "Share with Granger."

Iris and Hermione looked at each other and Hermione scooted to her until their shoulders were touching. Iris smiled and she turned back to Snape, not listening to a word he is saying...only thinking about the fact that her shoulder is touching Hermione's.

"Iris?" called Hermione, snapping her fingers in front if the girl. "Earth to Iris...hello??"

Snapping back to reality, Iris turned to Hermione. "Hermione. Uhh...yes?"

"We're both partnered up for Potions for the week." She said, placing her book back inside her bag. "There's a project due at the end of the week, so shall we meet up in the Library later?"

"Uhh...sure." Iris nodded, standing up...noticing that the lesson had ended.

"Splendid." smiled Hermione, "See you, Iris."

"See you...Hermione."

Hermione smiled and walked away to where Harry and Ron were.

"So?" asked Harry, smirking.

"So what?" Hermione frowns.

"You and Greene are partnered up." chuckled Ron.

"So?" Hermione looks at her best friends in confusion.

"So..." Harry nudges the girl. "Isn't she the girl you've always drooled for?"

"I do not drool for Iris." Hermione gasped.

"Yeah. Sure." Ron rolled his eyes, "Only talking about her for the past few weeks."

"I..." Hermione was speechless.

"Ask her out for merlin's sake." said Ron, snorting.

"I don't know about that," Hermione pursed her lips. "She's probably straight—"

"Nonsense." scoffed Harry, "Shoot your shot later."

"I'll try..."

Iris placed her books next to Hermione, who's reading her book.

"Hello, Hermione." The Hufflepuff greeted, "I brought my book this time. So you and I don't have to share."

Hermione looked up and grinned, "Yes...okay. I like what you've done with your hair."

"Huh? It's just in a low ponytail..."

"Yeah," Hermione grimaced inwardly. "You look pretty with your hair like that."

Iris smiled and sat down next to the girl. Hermione just complimented her. Oh my god.

"What exactly are we supposed to be learning?" asked Iris, "Honestly, I wasn't paying attention to the lesson."

"I know..." chuckled Hermione, "You kept looking at our shoulders."

"I...was—what?!" Iris' eyes widen, "I...didn't mean to—"

"Its fine..." chuckled Hermione. "Hey...uhh..."

"Yes?"

"So...I might be getting mixed signals for the past two years..." Hermione lets out a breath. "But...do you like me?"

"WHAT?!" yelled Iris, blinking in shock. She swallowed and panicked. "I...I...What? No! Yes...No...NO! I..."

"No?" Hermione's eyes turned sad and she nodded, "Oh. Okay..."

"Well," Iris grimaced, "yes...since fourth year...in the yule ball."

Hermione perked up. "So you do?"

"Yeah..." Iris smiled sheepishly. "Do you?" Hermione packed up her things and placed her bag on her shoulder.

"Yes." Hermione chuckled, standing up and placing a small peck on her lip...she laughed and walked away...leaving behind a flushed girl who brought her hand to her lip and blinked at the wall in shock.

Boy, what a day.
