He ran. Despite the bullet wounds in his abdomen and his dislocated shoulder, he still ran like hell.

He had to lose them, couldn't let them find him after the day's previous events.
It was his first failed mission, and he knew he would be punished severely for what he had done; he'd saved his target rather than eliminate him.

And now he had to run. Oh god, he couldn't let them find him.

His feet crunched on dead leaves and twigs that littered the forest floor. He'd been running for hours; any normal human in his state would have been dead long ago. Each step sent jolts of pain through his entire body. There wasn't a spot on him that wasn't covered in bruises and cuts and bullet wounds. But the Soldier wasn't made to live in comfort. He was built to follow orders and eliminate targets. He was an assassin.

Blood stained his dark uniform, and his vision began to blur. He knew he needed to find somewhere to hide, to let himself heal.
As if it was pure luck itself, he saw a small cabin. He pushed himself, each step agonizing, until he was at the porch. He wasn't sure if he could see lights on or not- everything was too busy spinning around him.

He collapsed on the concrete, his metal arm scraping the stone.

He had to stay awake.
