Rikkard

I woke up feeling the warmth. The kind of warmth you feel when you know you're safe and you are in the arms of the person you love. Love?

My eyes drearily peeled open, catching sight of the girl's back facing my way and my arm draping around her stomach. Glimpsing around, having a split second of confusion by our location, I realized we were still in the tent.

Miss Linton shifted a bit, wigging her back, and I soon saw her own eyes open. She stayed emotionless until her eyes furrowed with turmoil, but then she sighed and snuggled into my hold further. The corners of my mouth lifted.

"Morning," I whispered into her neck.

I went over her shoulder again; she let out a little squeal at my sudden comment and turned around towards me with a shy smile.

"Good morning, Sir,"

I checked the time, and it was five-thirty. We still had time. We have all the time in the world.

"We should get up now, Mr. Ambrose,"

I nodded, but then both of my arms encircled her waist again, flushing her against my chest. She chuckled and wrapped her arms around my neck as well.

After moments of comfortable silence, she spoke up, "Do you think we will ever locate Dalgleish?"

I looked at her, "you're with me, of course, we will,"

She rolled her eyes and got out of my hold to unzip the tent, "we ought to get ready,"

Aaannnddd we were off. So far, we walked two miles, and the only thing that I have consumed was a bit of cactus water. I heard it was the only water source out in this desert, so why not? It tasted very mellow yet tart at the same time. I ended up wanting more because I felt as if I were dying of dehydration.

"Mr. Linton," Mr. Ambrose tried grabbing my attention while I was trying to get every last bit of the bitter water.

"Hm?"

"You mustn't consume that type of water. You will end up sick,"

I halted, "really?"

Mr. Ambrose and Karim deterred as I did, "indeed,"

I shrugged, "oh well,"

I could sense the frustration heating off of his back as we started walking again, "seriously, Mr. Linton. Get rid of that immediately,"

"I won't get sick, Sir, I swear,"

I broke that swear.

Alas, we established a patch of grass that guided us into a forest. Finally, we weren't out in the open.

The only bad thing is, I was nonstop hurling.

"What did I say, Mr. Linton?" Mr. Ambrose questioned smugly as he watched me grow pale.

"Oh, piss off you son of a- bblluurrgg...!" I puked up nasty liquid behind a tree.

I heard him sigh behind me; I sat up promptly after kneeling over from vomiting. He was holding my hair back, I internally smiled.

"If you really aren't feeling well, we can set up our tents again?" He offered.

My heart did a leap, "Uh, erm, that's okay, I'll deal,"

I was expecting him to deny, but instead, he shrugged and stated, "as you wish,"
