03. Baby Fever

Rikkard

I awakened to the elegant sound of feminine humming coming from a familiar voice. My eyes wearily opened slightly only to see my wife swaying her hips to the faint classical music playing from over yonder.

She didn't know I was awake, so I continued to admire her as she danced gracefully. It was a sight worth seeing when you first wake up.

My beautiful wife.

She was folding laundry, still in her nightgown. What time was it? I knew it was early, but she usually never wakes up around this time. If she does, I know she's in one of her playful moods I always look forward to going through.

Looking over to my right, I see our first child, Aurora. Lilly had her only about precisely seven months and three days ago. When we found out that Lilly was with a child, I was stunned. Now typically, I'm not the one to show off extreme emotion, but at the moment, I felt nothing but happiness, which is rare.

"Rikky! You're awake! Alas!" Lilly noticed my awakened presence and stopped to stroll over to me, laying next to me and on my chest, gazing at our baby. She tickled Aurora's nose, earning us a soft giggle. My heart warmed, and I internally smiled.

Her head rested on my chest as she continued playing with Aurora. This. This exactly how I envisioned my future to be like with Lilly as soon as I fell in love with her. With a baby, successful lives, and a healthy balanced relationship. I needed nothing more.

Stroking Lilly's hair, she looked up at me, "Hi,"

The corners of my mouth lifted, "Good morning, my love,"

I planted a kiss on her lovely lips before she got up, "Alright, let's get on with the day, shall we?"

She reached out and grasped my hands, pulling me up from the bed as the quilts withdrew from my bare chest. I got out of bed myself and immediately started gaining my work clothes on.

I noticed Lilly frown as she turned around and saw me getting into my clothes; she turned back around and looked at herself into the mirror as she began pulling herself out of her nightgown and into her day gown, "working today?"

I nodded, "correct,"

She pouted, "but I wanted to spend the day with you and Aurora,"

When I was finished getting dressed, I went up from behind her and closed her waist around with my arms, and pressed down on her shoulder lightly with an affectionate kiss from my lips, "I won't be long,"

Her frown deepened as she turned around, wrapping her small arms around my neck, acting like a child, "okay,"

I again leaned down and pressed my lips against hers softly, she responded instantly, and I soon felt our tongues swerving around freely... until I heard our baby cry out.

I departed from Lilly's hungry mouth and glared at Aurora. I felt Lilly hit my chest, "don't glare at our baby, Rikkard,"

Letting go from her waist, she walked over to Aurora, picking her up softly and letting her sit on her waist. How does a woman aimlessly know how to deal with needy children? It took me four months and about two weeks to let Aurora warm up to me.
