Evie had started getting a little bit better, and wasn't as jumpy about everything, so she had started getting out of the house more. And it had been almost three weeks since the last break in, so Evie was in the process of trying to get over it. So on that afternoon, Evie was at the grocery store with Ember as she pushed the cart with her sleeping in her car seat.

Evie was in the baby aisle getting all the stuff that Ember needed, like diapers, wipes, and more formula. Then she looked back at the list on her phone as she went to go get other things that she needed that were in the grocery section of the store. And as she was getting a couple of bags of chips and stuff, she heard Ember start fussing as she began stirring. Evie rocked the car seat a little to try to calm her down, but it wasn't working all that well as Ember only cried louder, so Evie unbuckled her crying daughter as she then held her while trying to finish up her shopping quickly.

But Ember was still fussing as she was laying her head on her mother's shoulder. "Ember, come on sweetie, mommy needs to finish shopping." Evie said to her as she began bouncing her.

And as Ember only cried louder, it got the attention of Claudine who just so happened to be in the same aisle. When she saw Evie she started walking towards her. "Hey Evie!" She said getting her attention.

"Claudine! Hi! What are you doing here?" Evie asked as she saw the girl in front of her that she didn't expect to see.

"Oh, me and Maddy are having a movie night tonight, and I lost a game of rock paper scissors and now I have to get the snacks. What about you?" Claudine asked in return.

"I'm trying to get some grocery shopping done, but this little one seems to be against it." Evie replied as she rubbed her baby's back trying to get her back to sleep. "I think she's getting hungry, but I can't exactly feed her right now."

"I can hold her if you want." Claudine offered making Evie a little surprised at what had been said.

"Yeah sure, but I don't know how she'll react." Evie told her as she gently placed Ember into her arms.

Claudine bounced the crying baby in her arms, as Evie got one of her pacifiers and put it in her mouth to see if it would help stop her crying. And once she started sucking on it, Ember stopped crying and looked up at Claudine completely calm now. "Hey, it worked." Claudine said smiling down at the now calm baby.

Evie smiled at the adorable sight. "Now that is cute." Evie said as she put some more stuff in the cart and crossed it off her list.

"So how have you all been? I heard about the break ins with that hoodie person." Claudine said.

"We've just been trying to stay as safe as we possibly can." Evie told her daughter as they left the aisle walking side by side. "But it's hard cause we have no idea who it could possibly be. But the last time we had an encounter with them, they said they were someone that we know, and that makes it so much worse."

"Wow, that's awful. If there's anything I can do, just let me know. I'd be happy to help." Claudine said.

"Thanks Claudine, you're sweet. It means the world to me to know we have so many people on our side." Evie told her as she gave her a little side hug.

"Yeah, of course. I mean, we're friends now. Right?"

"Right." Evie confirmed. "Well, it looks like someone seems to like you." They both looked down to see Ember was back to sleep in Claudine's arms.

"Yeah, I guess so. Well, I should probably get those snacks for the movie night now. But it was good to see you two, remember what I said!" Claudine said as she handed Evie her baby back before going back to get the snacks.

"You too! Tell Maddy I said hi!" Evie told her as she laid her sleeping daughter back in her car seat. She then quickly finished up her grocery shopping before going to pay for it all.

She brought it all out to her car and buckled Ember's car seat back in, before heading back home. And when she did, she first went to bring in Ember before bringing in all the groceries. But as she looked through her keys trying to find the key to unlock the front door, and when she did, she reached up to unlock the door but she froze when she saw the door was open a crack. She slowly walked into the house being careful as she stepped inside.

"Henry? Are you home?" She called into the house as she set Ember's car seat on the floor as she walked around the house to see if anybody was inside. "Mal? Are you here? Is anybody here?" But no one answered her. She went up the stairs to check it out, but there seemed to be nothing up there. She suddenly heard Ember start crying from downstairs. And her eyes widened as she bolted down the stairs. "Ember!" She yelled.

But when she got downstairs, she saw the door was now wide open and there was a small, white paper on Ember's blanket in her car seat. Evie quickly picked up her crying daughter as she held her close to her chest, picking the paper up as well. She slowly unfolded it and read it. And as she did, she felt her heart start beating rapidly and her breath was quickened. On the note it read,

I'm coming back. You don't know when, but I am. And this time, I will be getting what I want.

Evie was now absolutely terrified all over again. She thought that maybe whoever was under the hoodie had given up. But clearly that was not the case. Whoever it was, had just been in her home again, and now they were coming back and she didn't know when. But what she did know, was that she had to protect Ember.

A/N: Well, the hooded figure has struck again. Let me know if any of you have anymore guesses as to who is the one under the hoodie. And please let me know what you thought! Until the next chapter!!!
