Nightfall soon arrived and the front door to the Salvatore Boarding House opened. Rebekah and Matt had been sitting in the parlor when they turned, their eyes widening at the sight of Mallory and Katherine walking in together."What a beautiful sentiment," Katherine commented, a smirk forming on her lips.
"Seriously?" Damon complained as he entered, an aggravated look on her face, "You can't knock?"
"Um, I live here so you better now be talking to me," Mallory argued as she turned to shoot her brother an annoyed look.
"Sorry," Katherine spoke up in a sarcastic tone, "I didn't realize we were standing on formalities."
"What the hell are you doing here?" Rebekah complained, glaring at Katherine hatefully, "And what the bloody hell is Mallory doing with you?"
"You didn't get the memo?" Katherine asked her curiously, "I'm here to talk some sense into poor, emotionless Elena."
"Are you out of your mind?" Matt exclaimed as he stared at Damon in disbelief.
"You got a better idea, Donavan?" Mallory snapped at the human coldly, "Unless you want me to lock your ass up in there with her, I suggest you shut your mouth before I shut it for you. Let the adults handle this," She paused, noticing the look she was getting since despite being the oldest there, she looked the youngest, "Shut up, okay? It didn't come out right."
Katherine and Damon turned to each other, rolling their eyes at Mallory's comment before they left the room together with Mallory.
Once they were gone, Matt scoffed and stood up from his seat. "Well, looks like the lunatics have taken over the asylum," Rebekah remarked, only to frown when she saw Matt walking toward the door, "Where are you going?"
"I'm calling Caroline. There's no way we're letting that psycho in there with Elena. If anyone's gonna talk some sense into Mallory, it's her," Matt complained, leaving without another word said.

Hours had passed that night and after growing bored of watching Katherine fail at turning on Elena's humanity, Mallory had left the boarding house and went to the grill. However, it wasn't long after that that she received a call saying Elena had escaped and was now running loose.
Even though she didn't care about the trouble Elena caused, as Mallory walked back to the boarding house, she stopped, a smile forming on her lips when she thought of the greatest plan.
She always made jokes about Matt Donovan and how he was human. He was the only one left human but he managed to survive as long as he had because of the ring he wore.
Matt was the last person from Elena's human life that remained human and was still connected to everything going on around them. He was the key to turning her humanity back on.
In the woods, Elena had given Matt, who was lying on the ground, a light kick with her foot. "Oh, come on, I barely drained an artery," She complained and Matt opened his eyes weakly, "Come on! Get up, I'm hungry. My head's fuzzy, I can't think straight. I need more."
"Elena, stop," He pleaded softly.
"But you're so good!" She exclaimed, pulling him up off the ground with vampire speed. However, before she could feed on him a second time, Stefan and Damon arrived and rushed to pull her off Matt. As Matt was released from Elena's grip, he grunted and fall to the ground beside his truck.
"Hey, hey, you're cut off," Stefan demanded in a stern tone.
"Let go of me!" Elena shouted as Stefan had her pinned to a tree.
