It was nighttime and Mallory was walking out of the room, carrying a suitcase. She suddenly stopped, frowning when she saw Stefan holding a duffel bag as well. "Hey, what's up?" She asked him with a smile on her face, "Where are you going?""I'm dumping Silas' body in the quarry and then..." He trailed off, sighing as he looked down downwards, "Then I'm leaving town for good."
"Why?" Mallory asked, a concerned look on her face. She expected Stefan to be the last one to ever want to leave Mystic Falls. He was the reason she had moved there in the first place, after all.
"There's nothing here for me anymore. Damon and Elena are now official and you're heading to New Orleans for the summer," Stefan admitted and Mallory scoffed, moving closer to him.
"Screw my plans to go to New Orleans," She argued, shaking her head in disapproval, "Let me come with you."
"No, I can't let you do that," Stefan responded and shook his head.
"Why not?" Mallory complained, not understanding why Stefan would choose to be alone.
"For the first time in the eight hundred years you've been alive, you finally found a life for yourself. And not a fake one like you had in 1864. You have friends, a boyfriend, a social life, you're going to college. You're finally happy, Mal. I don't want to ruin that for you. So I need you to live your life. I'll call you once I'm settled alright?" Stefan explained and Mallory sighed, hesitantly nodding her head.
Stefan walked over to her, wasting no time hugging her. "I'm happy for you, Mallory. I love you. Remember that."
"I love you, too," Mallory replied softly, sighing as she watched Stefan walk out the door without another word said.
She stood in place for a moment, wiping her eyes before she turned to walk back to her room. She walked over to the cabinet that held all of her journals. She opened it and took out one of the journals inside. She removed the one that read 1215, sighing before she placed it in her bag.
"Where are you going?" A voice suddenly spoke up, causing Mallory to turn to see Damon standing in the doorway with a concerned look on his face.
"New Orleans," Mallory answered in a calm tone, but couldn't bring herself to look Damon in the eyes.
"Why?" Damon asked, letting out a large scoff.
"The school year's over, I'm spending the summer there," Mallory replied, zipping up her bag before walking toward the door.
"Why not stay here?" Damon complained, not liking the idea of both Stefan and Mallory leaving.
"And be a third wheel in this house to you and Elena?" Mallory asked, letting out a large scoff, "No thanks. Don't worry. I'll be back before Labor Day."
Rolling her eyes, Mallory picked up her last bag from the door before moving toward the door. "Stefan left town and isn't coming back because of your newly found romance. I hope Elena was worth it," She snapped at him coldly before leaving the room.
She left the Salvatore Boarding House, walking down the long driveway to find a car waiting for her. She smiled, watching the window roll down. "You ready?" The person had asked and Mallory smiled, nodding her head.
"Ready as I'll ever be," Mallory replied, placing her bags in the backseat before climbing into the room. She closed the door and turned to look at Klaus, who was smiling at her. She smiled back at him, placing her sunglasses on as she prepared for the eight-hour drive to New Orleans.
"We better be making stops to eat," Mallory complained and Klaus smiled, rolling his eyes at her.
"Do you know me at all?" Klaus retorted, a grateful look appearing on Mallory's face.
