Quinn's POV

"What are you doing here? What's going on?" Steve asked in rapid succession. He was adorkable when he was confused, which was pretty much the only time she wasn't annoyed by him. Slipping her arms around his trim waist she looked up into his beautiful ocean blue eyes and breathlessly said, "I couldn't be happier to be your wife, baby."

Understanding finally dawns in those baby blues as Steve pulls Quinn's arms off of him and strides over to Tony who's now standing at the end of the long conference table texting. "This mission is supposed to be me and Natasha. I want Nat reassigned to come with me!" He panickedly says pointing at the woman in question who just sits there amused with the situation unfolding before them.

Quinn pretends to pout, sticking out her lower lip, making her green eyes big and fill with fake tears as if completely betrayed by his choosing another woman over her. "But Stevie, I love you! How could you think of taking another woman on our honeymoon!"

Rolling his eyes at her dramatics, Steve looks back over to Tony who, happy with his little bait and switch, pulls up the brief for their mission and points to the names of the agents assigned. "No, I'm pretty sure you're mistaken. As you can see right here it clearly says Steve Rogers and Quinn Harding."

Sure enough it did say so in very small print that he had clearly missed assuming that no one would think to pair him and her together after a year and half of avoiding working together. Tony smirks up at Steve as he sits down in his seat pulling over the stack of upcoming mission briefs. "Maybe if you'd bothered to go over any of today's briefings besides your own you'd have seen that the twin assassin's are going to be on their own mission in a couple hours. So that's a no can do, Cap. Quinn and you are who we have to send and you will go because Fury and Hill say so." He points out that the order came from on high meaning he couldn't get out of it.

Having fulfilled getting Stark's desired reaction out of Steve, Quinn blows him a kiss and starts to head out to go pack yet another bag clipping the veil into Natasha's hair as she passes her. Slumping his shoulders in defeat, Steve calls out to her before she can open the door. "Quinn, since there's nothing I can apparently do to keep you from going, you need to be here to go over the plan." Turning to face the room as she walked backwards she shook her head no.

"I'm good to sit this out. I went over the mission briefing last night and again on the plane home this morning. Not to mention I'm the one who came up with eighty percent of the plan we're to follow. Besides, I have to go pack." Quinn gives Steve a smirk, wanting to dig this in just a little more she stops walking when she reaches the door to the conference room and tilts her head to the side. "I could use your opinion though, Captain."

Furrowing his brow waiting for her to speak he rests his hands on his hips when she smiles innocently over at him and says, "Do you think three bags will be enough for all my bikini's, lingerie and heels or should I bring a fourth just in case?" Eyes flashing with satisfaction when she gets the reaction she wants out of him.

His face flushes a deep crimson when Natasha, Clint, Rhodey and Tony all laugh at her teasing of the serious straightlaced man. He looks at Quinn with indignation in his eyes, already tired of being the butt of this joke. If he didn't react so easily to her goading she'd have backed off a long time ago, but he gave in every time so she didn't. To be honest she kind of liked their back and forth even if he pissed her off more than any other person in existence. Resting his hands on his hips he practically snarls at her. "This mission isn't a joke, Quinn! I won't allow you to turn it into one of the escapades you and Wade get into and we end up with casualties or worse this Blake guy gets away."

Strutting back over to stand in front of him she ran her hands up his very muscular chest until her arms were around his neck with her hands twisted into his hair. Quinn pulled his head down so she could whisper into his ear. "If you wanted to escapade with me all you had to do was say so, Captain." She gives into impulse and nips his ear then flicks her tongue out to soothe the small pain. Before he could react she lightly skipped out of the room high-fiving Nat and Rhodey on her way out the door, but not before looking back to see Steve standing there, his body rigid, looking gobsmacked.

::::::

On her way back to the dorms she saw a certain neighborhood Spider-Man rummaging through the pantry for something to snack on per usual. With a streak of mischief that she learned to give into from her time with Wade, Quinn gets an idea. Stealthily she comes up behind him as silently as she could then pokes him in the ribs while yelling at the top of her lungs. "Thor, Peter's eating your pop tarts!"

He whips around with a mouth full of said pop tarts with pure panic in his brown eyes looking around for the god of Thunder. Seeing only Quinn he practically melts into a puddle of relief before gently pushing on her shoulder. "Not funny, Quinn. Damn near gave me a heart attack!" He says, clutching at his chest where his heart was currently pounding like a jackhammer.

Grinning, she reaches out to pull him into a tight hug before grabbing out a bottle of water from the fridge. Taking a sip she checks him over to see if he was still in one piece just like how she left him. "Hey kid, what's shakin'? Have you asked out MJ yet?"

Peter blushes at the mention of the girl he likes, making her smile at the reminder of how young he really is. He answers after swallowing his bite of the cinnamon roll flavored Pop Tart. "Yeah, I said exactly what you told me to say."

Quinn looks at him expectantly, eyebrows raised and waves her hand in the 'give it to me already' gesture. "And, what did she say?"

He smiles, blushing harder and nods his head yes. Hopping up to sit on the kitchen counter she high fives him. Now that the hard part was over, the next step was just as important so she inquired about it. "Where are you thinking of taking her?"

He gets really excited as he tells Quinn about some small weird museum that features an exhibit on famous murders. Particularly The Black Dahlia murder that she was obsessed with. "Girls got a dark side. I'm liking her more and more." Quinn laughs and shoots a wink at Peter as she takes a drink of her water. "Listen, I gotta pack for this mission I'm going on with Captain Fuddy Duddy, but when I'm done you wanna hangout? It seems like it's been forever since I've seen you."

Which was kinda true since she had been out of town for the last three weeks putting out a couple of Wade's personal fires that he'd got himself into and then their mission. Peter looks at her with genuine disappointment on his face. "I can't, sorry. I'm going on a recon mission with Mr Stark and Mr Rhodey, but for sure when we both are back in town we'll set aside a day to swing about town."

She gives him another quick tight hug before sending him on his way to the meeting she'd just left calling out to him. "Definitely! Don't do anything I wouldn't do."

Peter laughs and starts to walk backwards down the hall to the conference room so he could keep looking at her while he talks. "That doesn't leave me many options then, Q!"
