you were laying down on your bed, the voice of stevie wonder travelling around your room, when you heard a knock on your door.

"come in," you shouted.

you saw the door open, and your step-dad, who was also the manager of the 'well-known' dx, entered the room.

"hi, i was wondering if you could supervise the dx tomorrow? i have to look after your brother and i trust you to be able to man the shop by yourself tomorrow ." he asked,

"of course, i don't have anything planned anyways," you answered happily.

you loved going to the dx, ever since your mum met your step-dad, you would visit the gas station every week and would help out.

"great, thank you," he answered relieved, and started to leave the room when he remembered something, "oh and we have two new workers which you haven't met yet." your step-dad said before exiting the room.
you nodded and decided to lay out the clothes you were going to wear the next day.

it was the next day and you had opened the gas-station.

the bittersweet smell of petrol entered your nostrils as you looked around the empty shop. you had never seen the dx so empty, so quiet, so void of human interaction.

whenever you would open the dx on a thursday morning, there would be a enthusiastic sam (random name) already there who would greet you from outside the store when you arrived, waiting to be let in, or even some music would be playing on the small radio in the corner.

you missed sam, he was a talkative, happy 19 year old boy who used to work here, but two months ago he left to go to college and the dx have been needing spare workers since then.

you went to the small office in the back and turned on the radio, the soft jazz music travelling throughout the whole store. you took off your jacket, revealing a dx top on underneath.

the only noises that could be heard was the music playing and your foot tapping along to the beat of 'out on the floor' by dobie gray.

it was quiet until you heard two loud voices enter the shop, laughing with one another.

"then two started stripping-" the stranger then broke out into laughter, in which the other automatically joined in with.

you were trying so hard to stifle your laughter as the two boys, that you guessed were the new workers, continued to joke around.
