Proudly, you ruin it completely till there's only one sip of reasoning left.

"Bullshit," Changmin cursed under his breath, finally letting go of Eric's jaw from his tight grip.

The young boy only gave a confused look at Changmin. He saw how the latter started to act weird after he said Sunwoo's name.

"Out of all people, why Kim Sunwoo?" the elder pondered as he turned his back on Eric. Running his fingers through his raven hair, Changmin let out an exasperated sigh.

Cocking an eyebrow, Eric's confusion grew more as his eyes squinted on Changmin. "Why? Do you know him?" he asked.

Changmin then closed his eyes, trying to calm himself before facing the younger. "I just find his name familiar," he responded with a hint of lie. "Who are your other friends?" he asked after.

"Sunwoo's twin, Kim Sunhee," Eric began. "Ju Haknyeon, Lee Juyeon, Choi Chanhee, and Kevin Moon."

Changmin only nodded his head before walking out of the basement. That's when Eric yelled at him.

"Won't you take me out of here?!"

"I'll take you out of here by midnight," replied Changmin before closing the basement door, leaving the young boy still chained up inside the basement.

Changmin started to search for Kevin all around the place. After a minute or two, he finally found the latter having a conversation with Hyunjae in the rooftop.

"Excuse me," Changmin began, making the two boys to stop their conversation and look at the latter. "Can I borrow Kevin for a while? It would not take long actually."

Hyunjae only nodded his head and motioned for Kevin to head towards Changmin before locking his gaze onto the city below, his back facing the two boys.

"What is it?" Kevin asked in a low voice as Changmin gently dragged him across the part of the rooftop from where Hyunjae is.

"Why didn't you tell me that you are friends with that kid?" Changmin whispered.

"Kid?" asked Kevin with his nose scrunched in confusion. "Who are you talking about?"

"Eric Sohn," Changmin responded. "Why didn't I see him with y'all on the cinema that day?"

"Before everything, how did you know about Eric?"

"Mingi took him while he was watching the action of that governor," Changmin began. "That kid said that the governor offered him a ride because he was about to meet up with Sunwoo on the mall that is just a kilometer away from the bank on the north."

Changmin then rolled his eyes as he paused on talking before continuing once again. "Do you know who are the grandchildren of that governor?"

"No," Kevin immediately shook his head. "But why is Sunwoo mentioned all of a sudden?"

"Kim Sunwoo and Kim Sunhee are the grandchildren of that fucking governor," Changmin groaned in annoyance before biting his lower lip.

Kevin could only blink for a few times as he tried to process what Changmin have said. "The twins never mentioned something about their family," he stated.

"Exactly," Changmin breathed out. "Because they don't want the darkness behind their family to come out."

"Sadly on your side then," Kevin shrugged.

Changmin creased an eyebrow, making Kevin chuckle. "Oh, come on. Sunhee interests you badly," Kevin chortles.

"Fuck you," Changmin cursed. "You even gave details about me when she asked you to."

"I was just trying to help," Kevin defended. "But anyways, I think I'm gonna dig deeper on their friendship in order to get more information and unveil some secrets, hmm?"

"You'll be gone again for weeks?" asked Changmin, in which the latter nodded as a response.

"I need to stay with them for good," Kevin stated. "I could gain their trust more in that case. Oh, and also, don't ever tell Eric that I am a part of this shit or we will all crash and burn."

"No need to remind me," Changmin reassures the latter. "I also have one favor to ask."

"Mmhmm, just spill it."

"Watch Juyeon and Sunhee for me."

"Oh, yeah. They are dating," Kevin said in a playful manner with his eyebrows wiggling while looking at an annoyed Changmin.

"Shut up and just do me a favor," Changmin hissed before making his way down the rooftop.

"Yo, Hyunjae! I'll be back in a few!" Kevin tells the latter from across the rooftop.

Hyunjae only gave a thumbs up with his eyes never leaving the city underneath. When he felt no presence on the rooftop, he let out a sigh before fishing out his phone and called someone.

"Hey," Hyunjae greeted as his call was picked up. "Look out for Juyeon and Sunhee. I can sense something bad from what I've heard here," he stated before ending the call.

"Are you taking me home now?" Eric asks Changmin after the elder handed him a helmet.

"Obviously," Changmin responded nonchalantly as he climbed on his motorbike with Eric following after.

"Where should I take you then?" asked Changmin as he began to sped off on the quiet road.

"Well, I can't go home like this. My parents would definitely beat me up—"

"Where I should take you?" Changmin repeated, cutting the younger off.

"Just on Sunwoo's place. I'll tell you the directions."

"No need," said Changmin.

"You know the way?" Eric asked, obviously surprised. "How?"

"I am friends with Juyeon and he asked me to drop him off at the exact place that you said," Changmin lied for some reason.

"Cool," Eric smiled. "But why are you a bad guy?"

"Shut the fuck up or I'll drop and leave you here," Changmin threatened. "Don't ever spill anything to anyone about what happened today. I'll finish you off if you do."

Eric gulped before saying, "I won't, I promise."

"You better keep that promise of yours."

The ride went faster than expected as it only took less than half an hour. Changmin pulled over in front of the said house. Eric got off of the motorbike, as well as Changmin after taking off his helmet.

Eric pressed the doorbell for a couple of times before taking the helmet off and handed it back to Changmin with a small thanks.

The front door of the house opened, making Changmin smirk after seeing the person that came out of the opened door.

"Eric?" Sunhee called out as she opened the gate and checked on the younger boy. "What happened to you? Why are you covered up with cuts and bruises?" she asked after seeing the evident cuts and bruises on the younger's flesh.

"I was beaten up," Eric shyly said. "Uh, but this guy right here saved me," he added, pointing out Changmin by the side.

Sunhee was frozen on her spot after seeing Changmin with that usual playful smirk on his face. Her breathing started to get ragged, but she managed to pull Eric behind her.

"Hi, Sunhee. It is indeed nice to see you again."
