I was in the car on my way to meet Rockie Farmer.
I found him when I searched his name up at the airport. It turned out that he's this huge boss in the fashion design industry.
I told Emily I needed to go, then I was off the Rockie.
I met a lady at a desk and said, "May I see Rockie Farmer?"
The lady glared at me, "Mr. Farmer doesn't appreciate anyone to visit him."
"Please? It's important." I pleaded.
The lady continued to glare, "Nothing can be so important that you have to disrupt his work time. Please leave."
I tried to think of something quick, "I-I-I know North and South Farmer."
The lady lightened up. She must have known what I was talking about, "How do you know them?"
"I'm a family friend of North's family," I replied.
The lady sighed, "Right this way."
I followed her into a room. Rockie was looking outside a window, "Didn't I tell you not to bring anyone in when I'm working?"
I scoffed, "I swear, this is more important than looking out a window."
Rockie looked at me and nodded, "You may go now, Juliet."
Juliet nodded and walked away.
"What's your name, son?" Rockie sat down.
"Xander," I said, "Xander Gerkins. I know North."
"Yes, I found out at the hospital. Is North alright?" Worry filled Rockie's eyes.
I nodded, "Why didn't you tell me you were her father?"
He made a weird face, "How did you even find out about me?"
I filled him in on how Emily and I were trying to find North's family. I skipped the part about finding Lyla. Even though he should know, I don't think anyone would want to meet their ex-girlfriend.
"So, South's in California now?" Rockie said.
I nodded, "You should visit your girls."
Rockie shook his head, "They don't want to see me. I'm the one who gave them up."
"Yes, they do! North has been dying to find out who her family is ever since she was five! You need to see them!" I begged.
Rockie sighed. He thought for a while. Then he pressed a button on the telephone on his desk, "Juliet, I'll be going out of the office early. In fact, I'll be leaving right now."
I smiled, "Follow me with your car."
Rockie smiled, "You got it, son."
I hopped in my car and began to drive. We arrived at the Sanders and found a weird-looking car there.
"South must be here already. Perfect!" I told Rockie.
At the porch, I took a deep breath, "Ready?"
Rockie nodded, "Ready."
I opened the door. Rockie stared at North and South.
Rockie knelt down with tears in his eyes, "Girls. I'm your father."
The girls didn't hesitate. They hugged their father. Even though they were crying, I knew it must have been the happiest day of their lives.
Then, the door flung open again. This time Lyla was in for the hugs.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I shouldn't have let you go! Your grandparents made me do it!" Lyla cried.
"What?" The girls yelled, pulling away from their mother.
"Told you she'd tell them," I told Andrella, who was smiling like crazy.
"Lyla?" Rockie yelled.
Lyla got up from the ground, "What are you doing here?"
"Me? I'm visiting my children. What are you doing here?" Rockie started the family feud.
"Oh, stop acting like they aren't my daughters!" Lyla yelled.
The girls laughed and whispered as their parent's conversation gave them laughs. But I didn't focus on that.
Judith was right. Emily and I did have a meaning in life.
And North helped us find it.
North was our meaning in life.
