His Queen, Her King (Draco x Reader)

Part 16

"Hey Ced" I greet sitting next to him in the library with my potions books. He smiles up at me.

"Hey stranger, how was your holiday?" He asks. I smile and open my books up.

"It was really good, how was yours? Did your Dad try to force any more cooking down you?" I say. He laughs and shakes his head.

"No thankfully he's given that a break. He's been busy at the ministry so I didn't see much of him" He says flipping the page on his book. I look over to see a spell.

"A bubblehead charm?" I ask confused. He rolls his eyes with a sigh.

"The next challenge is underwater for an hour. Apparently we have to find some kind of treasure?" He says. He looks slightly worried but he knows how to mask it well.

"I've used one before, when I went scuba diving on holiday with Da- I mean Severus" I say. He smiles at me softly putting his hand over mine.

"It's okay to miss him you know?" He says. I nod and he senses my discomfort. "Well mind teaching me it? The challenge is tomorrow" I nod and take out my wand. I show him the movement first and he reciprocates it perfectly. By the time the library closes he has the hang of it.

"Well done, it took me ages to learn" I say as we both begin to walk out of the library with our things.

"Thank you for teaching me" He says. I smile as we begin to walk to the common room. "I actually also wanted to ask your advice, on Malia" I smirk at him and he shakes his head.

"You want to ask her out?" I say raising my eyebrows. He nods. "Wow Cedric Diggory the ladies man is asking me for help" He shoves me playfully before giving me a serious look.

"She hates PDA so something low-key, she loves Hogsmead so take her there" I say getting to the entrance. "Oh and she likes sunflowers and roses" He nods and gives me a hug before heading for his common room. I go inside and see everyone with their back to me around the fire. I sneak up behind Draco and cover his hands with my eyes. He jumps slightly before I remove them and kiss his cheek. Blaise moves over so that I can slip in next to him.

"Hey Princess, how was studying?" He asks putting his arm around my shoulders.

"Didnt get much done, I was helping Ced with the challenge" I say laying my head on his shoulder. Malia looks worried and is about to open her mouth. "He's fine it's just an hour underwater challenge, so I taught him the bubble head charm"

"That's good, I'm excited to go watch him" She says. Everyone nods in agreement, surprisingly all happy for Malia. Apart from Blaise of course. They start telling me about Crabbes failed attempt at a potion. I shake my head laughing as someone clears their throat behind me. We turn to see Snape with his arms crossed.

"Sorry to interrupt you're obvious productive time, but Y/N you need to come with me" He says. I look between the others confused as Draco gets up with me. "Just Y/N, Malfoy. You don't need to follow her everywhere" He nods and looks at me worried. He kisses my forehead softly and I follow Snape to his office. I see Moody and Mr Crouch sat there.

"Whats going on?" I ask confused. They smile at me.

"Part of the challenge I'm afraid Miss Avery. This won't hurt one bit" Moody says and flicks his wand at me. I fall back into darkness.

The next day

As I hit the air I begin choking up all the water inside of my lungs. I feel an arm around my waist holding me up as I turn my head to see Cedric. The crowd starts cheering loudly as I look at the stands.

"Thanks for the warning Snape" I mutter out of breath as Cedric laughs slightly pulling me over to the steps. I see Draco there already holding his arms out for me. Cedric helps me out of the water and Draco pulls me up. He instantly wraps a towel around me.
