Chapter 20

"They will be in touch with your next trial, I think it will be over the Christmas break. I'll give you any information I can" Lucius says as Draco and I are about to get on the train. I nod slowly and give him a smile. Narcissa gives us both a quick hug and we take our trunks to the steward who puts them in the hold with the others. Draco pulls me into the compartment and I almost faint seeing Malia stood there with Blaise.

"Mal?" I whisper. She looks over at me and smiles running into me. She pulls me in for a tight hug and I let go of Draco's hand to hug her back.

"I've missed you so much. I'm sorry that I didn't write" She says. I pull away and smile softly at her. I sit down next to her as Draco sits with Blaise. "Blaise told me about the first trial, are you okay?"

"I'm okay Mal, are you okay?" I ask. She smiles and shrugs slightly.

"It's been a long summer," She says. I see her look out the window with a sad smile and take her hand. She smiles gratefully as the train starts moving. We all make small talk most of the way.

"I see she's still got her claws deep into him" A voice says from the door. I know who it is instantly but I ignore it talking to Malia about her getaway with her parents.

"Y/N, I think someone wants to talk to you," Blaise says. I turn to him and smile, raising my eyebrows.

"Oh she was talking to me? Pansy sorry I didn't see you there" I turn to her and smirk. She goes to speak and I stand. "I wasn't aware of your relevance to be fair, oh that's right you were fawning over Draco"

"Excuse me?" She says looking pissed. I cross my arms and turn back to Malia who winks at me.

"You think I didn't notice? Oh please I'll step aside for you sweetheart" I say and she almost smiles. "I don't think you realise how much he actually despises you, but please go ahead. I'd like to start my year off with a laugh" She looks speechless and Draco stands putting his arms around my waist and head on my shoulder.

"Is that all Parkinson? I'd like to get back to my girlfriend" He says. She huffs and storms out of the compartment. "You are so sexy" Draco starts kissing my neck softly and I blush.

"Oh my god!" Malia says and we turn to her and Blaise.

"What?" I ask with a small laugh. Blaises jaw drops and he looks at Malia.

"You guys did it?" He says. My eyes widen and I go a deeper red. Draco smirks and Malia shakes her head in shock.

"No" I try but they just shake their heads with a smile.

"Was it good?" Malia asks. I laugh and shake my head as Blaise sits next to her and I sit with Draco. I lay my head on his shoulder. His arm wrapped around me.

"The look on his face says that it was, y/n can you go anymore red?" Blaise jokes and I stick my tongue out at him then nudge Draco who just kisses my forehead. The train stops and Draco gives me my bag and grabs his. We meet Crabbe and Goyle and jump off the train. I see Harry get off and Draco gives me a smile. Let the act begin. He squeezes my hand and takes the lead.

"I'm surprised the Ministry's still letting you walk around free. Better enjoy it while you can. I expect there's a cell in Azkaban with your name on it" Draco says as we walk past him. I'm surprised when Harry lunges for him and I pull Draco back instinctively. Draco recovers. "What'd I tell you? Complete nutter"

"Just stay away from me!" Harry screams at him. I catch his gaze and he shrugs Ron off him. We make our way into the Common Room and Snape gathers us all.

"Right I'll keep this short for you all. I expect best behaviour this term. If I see any of you in detentions they will be with me and I'll make them a misery. Now I'll announce your prefects and then you can get on with getting ready for the Welcome Meal" He says. I stand next to Draco and Malia. "Your Male Prefect is Draco Malfoy and your Female is Y/N Avery. That will be all" He hands us our badges. People clap and there are a few cheers and hoots as Snape leaves. I roll my eyes at Blaises wink.
