10 minutes later Amelia found herself in the passenger seat of a brand new Aston martin Db9.
The countryside was blurring past at an astonishing speed until it merged into one huge green blur.
Despite how on edge she was, the interior of the car made Amelia feel more at home. Everywhere she looked there was black or grey leather, the dash board buttons had calming blue lights shining out from behind them and the speakers were blasting out her favourite song from ever since she could remember. She was even smiling by the time the car pulled into the car park in the middle of a large high-street.
As Amelia stepped out of the car she looked up at the towering buildings surrounding her. She saw the names of all her favourite shops: jack wills, River Island, Hollister and gilly hicks, topshop and republic.
Busy shoppers filled the pavements, arms loaded with bags from just about every shoo imaginable. People dressed in suits were walking along talking rapidly into smart phones as they made their way into work.
Amelia took Daniel’s hand and walked a step behind him because she had absolutely no clue where she was going.
After about 5 minutes Daniel steered her into a small street facing office. The name above the door said: Wizard Estate Agents.
Amelia assumed that she was an estate agent and that by ‘Sales’ Daniel had meant house sales.
Amelia was suddenly confused. The last time she had checked she’d wanted to become a famous actress. There are no similarities at all between acting and estate agency.
‘We work here?’ Amelia whispered into Daniel’s ear as they walked through the office.
‘No babe. We own this place!’ Daniel said with a grin and a quick kiss on the lips. ‘Do you want a tea or coffee?’ Daniel walked over to what appeared to be a makeshift kitchen in a broom cupboard.
‘I’ll have a coffee please,’ Amelia said with a small smile.
Maybe it’ll keep me awake in this weird world… Amelia thought to herself as she sat down at the girly side of a double desk. She assumed that this desk was hers as the only other free one had a sports calendar and a car shaped mouse.
‘Here you go love,’ Daniel placed a steaming mug of coffee on the table in front of her.
She picked it up and curled her fingers around the barrel. She felt warmer this way because the sun was blocked from the office, which made it rather chilly.
They sat there for hours absent mindedly chatting with their colleagues and drinking tea and coffee.
People continued to walk past the window, but no one looked at the small estate agents no one even seemed to realise that it was there.
