37 // Hawks // "I'm Not Coming Home"

Hawks hugged me tight,

"I've gotta go now, Babybird." I shook my head and stayed on top of him. He rubbed my back,

"I've gotta go, Y/N." I leaned up and he kissed me,

"I'll be back. I promise, my love." He got up and perched on the window. I scrambled up,

"Wait!" He turned and climbed down. My body slammed into his and I cried into his shoulder,

"What if you don't come back?" He kissed my forehead and rubbed the back of my neck,

"I will. I promise." I pulled away and he wiped my tears. He touched my necklace. It had one of his feathers on it,

"I'm always here, Kid." I nodded tearfully and he kissed my forehead,

"I love you, Y/N." I sniffed,

"I love you too, Keigo." He hugged me,

"Close your eyes and count to ten." I felt tears run down my face,

"No... Keigo..." He pressed his lips against my forehead,

"Do it." I sniffed and sighed, closing my eyes,

"1... 2... 3..." There was one last kiss on my lips,

"4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10." I opened my eyes and he was gone. I wiped my face and laid down,

"He'll be here when I wake up..." I touched the feather around my neck,

"I hope..."

~Hours later~

I had taken 4 naps and Hawks still wasn't home. I couldn't eat, I was so nervous. I was reading a book to pass the time when the feather on the necklace tickled my nose. I giggled and sat up. It wiggled in front of my face for a second before bursting into blue flame. It disappeared. I knew what it meant. Tears welled up in my eyes and flowed down my cheeks. I sobbed loudly, clutching the now empty necklace,

"No!" I closed my eyes and sobbed harder, all of our memories together coming to me at once,

"Don't leave me..." I hugged my arms around myself,

"Please come home..."

"Can't you hear me... I'm not coming home... Do you understand? "
