===== (Y/N's P.O.V)
"It is not about power, Young Bakugo, but about strategy." You could hear All Might coaching Bakugo from the far end of the arena. Mr. Aizawa was doing the same, lecturing you,
"Having a plan is more important than executing it. You can't just go in there and rely just on your quirk. Think with your head, not your quirk." He tapped your forehead, right in between your eyebrows. You nodded and a bell rung, signaling the start of the round. You watched Bakugo, waiting for his impatience to throw the first move. It was a quirk assessment exercise, a bout in which you were allowed to do whatever you wanted to show off how you were progressing with your quirks. Nevertheless, it was still training. But you had not a single doubt that Bakugo was going to take it too far. He ran at you, throwing a blind punch. You ducked under it, your back facing him. He quickly caught you square in the lower spine, using his gauntlet to hit you,
"Ow!" You stumbled forward and whipped around, just in time to catch him in the jaw with your fist. He stopped short, recoiling. He suddenly grinned,
"That all you got? We might as well not even fight!" You balled your fists, trying to push down your emotions,
"Think with your head, not your quirk." You watched him maneuver around the arena, tracking his next move. You kept your eyes on the gauntlets, looking for some indicator that they were full or filling up. He came running at you again, explosions crackling at his palms,
"Are you just gonna stand there and let me kick your ass?! Or are you gonna fight me like you mean it?!" You threw your arms up to block, focusing on formulating a plan,
"He's relying on offensive attacks." So it was time for some defense. You ran to the edge of the arena, explosions following a little too close behind you. You turned and, as he was going to jump on you, you ducked, running in the opposite direction. You heard him growl as he hit the ground,
"Where are you going, Dumbass?!" You bought yourself a little time, pulling your sneakers off. You glanced back, seeing that plenty of the arena had been ripped up from Bakugo's attempts to blast you. With your bare feet now on the ground, you had the upper hand. You could feel his movements deep in the earth, every step he took. You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, feeling for his movements. He was coming up behind you, you felt, a big explosion waiting in his palms. You caught him in the act, grabbing his hand and flipping him over your shoulder. With the contact, you took the explosive energy, holding it for a second. It felt like you were floating, holding all that power. You didn't want to let it go but you had to. Instead of ending it there, you blasted a hole into the cement and kicked him in,
"Good luck with that." He clawed at the dirt, trying to climb out the easy way. You could see his quirk was tiring out. You didn't waste time watching him struggle, running to the outer edge of the ring, raising cement blocks in your wake. While Bakugo was making his way out of the ditch, you were busy raising a makeshift labyrinth. You heard him laugh from within the maze,
"So that's it, huh? Not gonna face me and do this for real?!" The comment struck deep but, as much as you wanted to go smash his face in, you waited. You crept your way through the maze, weaving closer and closer to him. You felt his footsteps getting closer, ducking behind a wall and waiting for ample time to strike. You could hear his sounds of annoyance,
"Alright, idiot! This isn't funny anymore! Come out and face me!" You smirked. He was right where you needed him. You lit a flame in your palm, waiting until he walked past you. When he did, you snuck behind him, raising your hand to pin him. As if planned, he whipped around and pulled the pin on his gauntlet, smirking,
"Gotcha."
~Third Person P.O.V~
The entire stage rumbled like it was hit with an earthquake. The stands shook, as did the commentator booth, and everyone was thrown out of their seat. Y/N disappeared into a red-orange/yellow cloud of explosion, one so strong that even Bakugo himself was thrown back. Both parties were motionless for what seemed like forever. Presentation Michael stared down, concerned,
"What have we got here folks? A double knock out? " Eraserhead was watching as well, crossing his arms indifferently but still hoping for something,
"Come on, you problem children. Get up." All Might stared silently, that dumb smile on his face still filled with false hope. Bakugo twitched on the ground, pushing himself to his feet. He swayed unsurely, steadying himself. All three commentators waited for almost a minute before Hizashi rung the ending bell. Not even then did Y/N get up. Bakugo didn't give it a second thought, stumbling off into the back rooms. The rest of Class A in the stands waited for the moment Y/N got up and told them it was fine. When it didn't happen, Kirishima was the first down to the arena. He shook the lifeless body on the ground,
"Bakubro, check this out!" Bakugo glanced back, scoffing,
"Whatever. It's a stunt for attention." Kirishima began to worry, shaking Y/N violently,
"Y/N!" Only then did Bakugo walk back,
"Ay! Dumbass! Get up!" Y/N groaned, eyes fluttering slightly. Bakugo scoffed,
"See?" Still, he stayed, watching. Both boys stared down, carefully waiting for Y/N come too. The first thing Kiri did was offer his hand, helping the weary trainee up,
"Are you okay, man?" Y/N first gave him a perplexed look before nodding unsurely. Kiri smiled back, laughing nervously,
"Bakugo really did you in there, huh?" Bakugo, meanwhile, was already on his way back to the waiting rooms. Again, a simple smile and nod. Y/N trudged off to the back room and, though all seemed well, something told Kirishima it wasn't. He turned,
"Hey, Y/N!" He called, loud enough for the entire arena to look up. All but one person. Y/N continued walking, brushing past Bakugo, who had stopped. He grabbed at Y/N's arm but missed,
"Hey, Dumbass! This isn't funny!" Still, Y/N walked. The boys looked at one another before Bakugo scoffed, rolling his eyes,
"Who cares? Y/N's just a sore fucking loser."
