Wow. Stuck in a video game that belonged in the stone age, huh? 

The epitome of all your failures and mistakes and wrong decisions, it led you here.

You really, really hated yourself right now. 

Lines of dialogue you didn't want to speak, doing things you wouldn't have bothered with normally, and interacting with people more mindless than you were forced to be were your daily tasks. In the short time you'd been here, you'd learned to adhere to the rules and regulations of this pixelated nightmare of a world, or suffer the dire consequences and subsequent steep punishments that followed if the code wasn't obeyed.

Due to this, and in part because you'd only been here a while, you never figured out if anyone was like you; stuck with no escape in this repulsive, square-anime hell. 

Well! On this particular day, that was gonna change.

The game's code had called him 'Senpai,' and you'd never bothered to ask if he had an actual name. Of course not, you hadn't had a chance. Not that you would have anyway. It was obvious that he was one of the main characters. Soft, luxurious orange-blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes, a soothing voice with a slight but smooth British accent. Maybe his nostrils were a bit too defined for your liking, but no matter. Every girl in the school swooned over him. And you had to act like you did too.

Look, pretending to like something will almost inevitably make you actually like it. In your case, you disliked his big-headedness enough to find him punchably (that's not a word?) annoying, while also finding yourself smitten with him. Maybe it was just the code talking, but hey, he was pretty cute. If you weren't in a video game, you might have even said he was your type, look wise. 

But you were in a video game, and very annoyed and despairing about it.
