Name Game

You went about your school day normally until the day was over. 

Thank goodness you didn't have to actually participate in class. That was one of the good things.  

So as soon as the day was over, you ran as fast as you could to get to Senpai. Damn, you were still unsure what to call him... you should really ask.

As soon as you caught up with him, you grabbed his shoulder and spun him around to face you. His face broke into a smile and he laughed, grabbing your hands and twirling you around. Your face immediately went the colour of of strawberry juice. 

He saw this, and dropped your hands, looking away, a blush dusting his cheeks too. "Ahem... sorry, I got excited..." he mumbled, running a hand through his perfect hair.

"No, no, it's fine! I just didn't expect that is all... anyways! Let's get going!" You smiled at him, and took his hand again, leading him away as quick as you could. He stumbled trying to keep up as you dragged him along, but he was laughing. 

And so were you.

When you found a place where you were sure no one would bother either of you, slightly outside the rendered map of the game area, you let go of his hand and plopped to the ground. He sat down slightly more gracefully.

"So, okay, first of all! I refuse to call you Senpai. You have another name, right?" you inquired, peering at him. 

"Yeah, I do actually. Uhm, it's been a while since I've thought about it... uhhh, let me try and remember..." he said, looking up as though watching something replay in his mind.

When he remained that way for what felt like forever (but was probably 30 seconds), you felt the need to speak. "Uh, can you just... not remember or something?"

He looked distressed, and held up his hand in a 'give me one more moment' gesture. His face became more upset and he seemed to be really struggling. You were just about to speak when he wailed, "I can't remember my name!"

Your eyes widened. "You can't remember your name?" He nodded, panic in his eyes. You moved closer and put your hands on his shoulders. He was breathing quickly, shallowly and unevenly. 

His eyes stared into you and he whimpered. "I'm sorry, I- oh god, it's been that long... oh no... I-" 

In the middle of him speaking, you cut him off with gentle 'shush' noises. "It's okay. You've been in here a while... without anyone to talk to and being called by the wrong name. It's okay, yeah? We can, uh..." you paused while you tried to think of something to do, while he stared at you, looking as though he was gonna cry.

"We can pick out a temporary name for you! Yeah! That's what we'll do!"
