Walking to school in the morning is just... boring.  I mean, nothing exciting happens, not even in real life...

Reaching the school gates, you looked around in dread. You'd spoken to him yesterday... he probably thought you were head over heels for him. Hah! Of course you weren't! You hated that stuck-up twat. Yeah. You did.

You scowled as you passed all the random people, sweeping your hair from your eyes. But then of course, you weren't looking where you were going. Why didn't you just look where you were going? (Because I, the author, needed to do this, that's why.)

You slammed into someone, and your immediate reaction of course, was to apologize. And then, oh. You recognized who it was. You resisted the urge to shove him to the ground on purpose. Because this wasn't a scripted event, you could act how you wanted. "Ugh. For fuck's sake, you again... I'm surprised I'm not being destroyed by the game's instructions right now but whatever..."

It was then you noticed he was staring at you, as thought trying to work out how to reply.

"What're you staring at, Mr. charming-pretty-boy twat?" you hissed angrily swinging your book bag over your shoulders again. When you received no answer, and he continued to open and close his mouth like a fish gasping for air, you rolled your eyes. "Yeah, that's what I thought," you growled, and began to walk away.

"W-wait!" He grabbed your shoulder and spun you to face him. "You... you actually... you broke character. That can... that can only mean one thing. You're stuck in here, like me, right? Right?!"

He looked so hopeful. And also, he looked as though he were about to cry. He was gripping both your shoulders desperately.

You were just flabbergasted. You didn't expect him of all people to be trapped in here with you. When you came to your senses enough to speak, you dragged him aside to somewhere where no one would hear you both converse. Behind a tree, to be exact.

"I want to apologies right now for being an ass and what I said a few seconds ago. But what? you're kidding me, right? You're.. you're an actual person? Like me?"

When he nodded in reply, lower lip trembling and just looking so incredibly relieved, you were starting to get a bit teary too... both of you tried to stem the flow for a moment before hugging each-other and trying not to scream in happiness while sobbing your hearts out. Not the best reaction to have, maybe, but both of you were just so overjoyed. You were both real people.

After this little moment, you pulled away ashamedly and rubbed your eyes. "...H-how long have you been stuck i-in here?" You asked, sniffling but smiling.

"I've almost lost track... I've been in here for years... waiting and hoping someone, anyone would let me out..."

You gasped out loud. "Years?! I've- I think I've only been here for a week, maximum, or something... ten days? Eleven? I dunno. I already hate it so much! How the hell have you kept any will to live?!"

He sniffled. "I haven't. You can't... just... jump from the roof or whatever. The game doesn't let you do anything like that... when you've been here as long as I have, you'll have tried and done everything..."

You started tearing up at that again. It broke your heart to think about that. Being alone for so long... You could offer only words of comfort. "...Well, we can talk to eachother now... wait it out until someone finds us? Share stories and stuff from our lives?"

A tiny smile crept onto his face. "...Yeah, I think I'd like that..."
