I arrive at the castle basement again. This time the basement is pitch black.
I walk up the stairs, open the door, and walk into the castle... no one's here.
I mean, I guess it makes sense. Besides, it's 1:00, I'm probably the only one who would stay up this la-
*Thud*
Th-the door closed! I run over to try to open it. Goddamnit, it's locked! I hear footsteps echoing through the room...
Meggy: What the fuck?! Who's there!
No answer.
Meggy: A-Axol, this is you, right?!
...
Nothing...
Meggy: Listen, if you don't come out... th-then I'm gonna have to use for-
I get hit in the head, causing me to black out... what the fuck is happening?! Did I just die or what..?
I open my eyes to see that I'm lying on the ground... the... muddy ground?- Is this another dream?
I get up and look around to see where I am, but all I see is fire... and destruction... I don't remember this...
???: You're awake...
I turn around to see Marie standing there... what the fuck is happening?!
Meggy: Marie where am I?!
Marie: ...Inkpolis...
Meggy: N-no seriously... WHERE AM I-
Marie: YOU'RE IN INKPOLIS. THIS IS INKPOLIS.
Meggy: N-o it's not... Marie for God's sake please tell me you're lying!
Marie: ...You weren't here when this happened... you were too busy focussing on your own life, that you forgot about all of us... is that why I chose you... Meggy Spletzer? IS THAT WHY I CHOSE YOU?!
Meggy: You chose me so I can find what's important to me in life!
Marie: IS THIS NOT IMPORTANT?!
Meggy: I-it is but-
Marie: But what?!
Meggy: There are other things that are important to me as well!-
Marie: Like yelling at your old friend for "getting involved with your new life" and in the end they never did, right?
Meggy: For your information, I thought she was a spy!-
Marie: But that's not why you confronted her, right?
Meggy: ...Wh-where are the agents? Where's Pov?
Marie: ...
Meggy: Where's Dickhead?!
Marie: ...
Meggy: WHERE'S SAND, AND SLINKY, AND NORM?!
She remains motionless, still not answering, me...
Meggy: JESUS CHRIST JUST ANSWER ME-
There's an explosion near us, causing me to fly back into a pile of rubble. I look in the distance to see Octar- whatever his name is and his octarian army destroying what's left of Inkpolis. I look back at Marie who's slowly turning her head towards me.
