(One Week Ago)

(3rd Person POV)

It's 10 p.m. Nat enters the training ground to confront Sam.

Nat: I've been looking for you. What are you still doing here?

Sam: *notices Nat* O-oh! I'm just making up my hours.

He sees her practicing a specific movement over and over again.

Nat: So what's this you have going on?

Sam: Well, it's a fighting technique I came up with. Imagine this punching bag is an enemy, and I knock it down.

She kicks over the punching bag for it to fall on its side.

Sam: Then I'll lift it from behind and throw it into a wall.

Nat watches as she does exactly that.

Nat: Well... I guess it could be pretty effective.

Sam: Yeah... b-but it can also be used to protect someone. Kneel over here, and imagine some kind of projectile is coming at you.

Nat: *no expression* Oh no. A... uh... a projectile is coming at me.

Sam: Really? That's the best you can do?-

Nat: Quick the projectile's getting closer!

Sam: Oh! Right!

She lifts Nat and throws him into a wall, standing in front of him, but instead of saying anything, they both just stand there staring at each other, until Nat breaks the silence.

Nat: H-hey um... do you wanna go to the spot?

Sam: *sarcastic* It's late at night. Of course I want to go to a dumpster!

Nat: No *chuckles* I meant the old spot.

Sam: *surprised* O-oh... is it still there?

Nat: *pulls out his car keys* Why don't we check?

("The Spot")

They walk up a steep hill that leads to a cliff. It's a high cliff that's extremely dangerous, but it's worth it for the scenery to them. They make it to the top and...

Sam: *gasp* It's still here.

It's the tree they would go to when they were younger. The tire swing, the "stick-sabers" (they were just normal sticks) even the treehouse. Although the treehouse is half-broken, you can still see the sign, "SDN HQ".

Nat: SDN...

Sam: San... Dam... and Nat...

Nat: Funny how we hung out in a place like this when we were little without any supervision.

Sam: Yeah... but it was worth it.

They walk to the ledge and sit down. They both look at the view in front of them.

Sam: This is... this is nice. We haven't done this in so long.

Bat: ...So in a month-

Sam: You get a good view of the stars from here... I'm surprised we never came here at night!
