Cade motioned for the rest of them to round up the scientists and keep them contained while Gale got what they needed. Justin knew it would only be a matter of time before he broke, but he was still frustrated that they couldn't get it any faster.
Gale drew his python out of the holster and ordered the doctor to sit. He moved a table between the two and sat down opposite of the doctor. He unloaded all of the bullets in his revolver except for one.
"Hi Imran. Can I call you Imran? I'm gonna call you Imran. I wanna play a little game. It's called Russian Roulette. You've heard of it, haven't you?" Gale asked mockingly.
Zhabiv said nothing before Gale spun the cylinder of his revolver around and put it back in line with the barrel, set it on the table and spun it around.
"Now normally I wouldn't play this myself but since I don't see anyone else willing to play, I'll play," Gale said, the barrel pointing back at him. He confidently lifted the gun up to his head and pulled the trigger. The hammer slammed into the cylinder with a satisfying click. He passed it off to Zhabiv, who looked at the gun with fear.
In a moment of pure instinct, the doctor pointed the pistol at Gale but with lightning quick reflexes, Gale moved the gun out of his hand and hit him across his face, breaking a tooth and sending the doctor onto the ground.
"Just remember you could've avoided all of this," Gale said before kicking him in the ribs and putting him back in his seat.
"You're gonna tell me," he paused and struck him across the face again, "Where she is."
He kept hitting him and hitting him, more blood coming out of his mouth and nose and his glasses on the floor, cracked and broken. Gale pummeled his ribcage, feeling his bones snap beneath the hardened knuckles of his gloves.
"I can feel you cracking Imran. Just tell me what I want to know and this can all stop," Gale said, striking him in the stomach again. Still, the man remained silent except for moans of pain.
"Alright then. Have it your way," Gale said before he reloaded his revolver and pointed it at a scientist.
"Wait! Okay! I'll tell you," Zhabiv told him. So that's what his weakness was.
Gale pulled the hammer back, the gun still aimed at one of them, and said, "Talk. Now."
"We found out she was a spy, so we took her in for questioning. She wouldn't give us what we wanted, so we had to force it out of her, just like you forced this out of me. She only gave us her name and nothing else, so we sent her into the portal and shut it down. We had a tracker put on her so we could see how long one could survive in that hell. We opened the portal again, and that's when those devils came from it and destroyed this facility, so we shut off the power everywhere but here and disabled the portal."How do we turn it back on?!" Gale demanded, the explanation pissing him off more than he thought it would. While he would never admit it to their faces, he cared a lot about all of the people he had grown to call his friends, so hearing that one of them was not only lost in another dimension, but tortured as well, set him off more than he thought.
"You need the keycards from two level 3 members, and the power diverted to the portal generator. I have one of them," Zhabiv shared.
"Where is the other one?"
Zhabiv pointed to one of the men in the crowd. He looked to be in his early forties.
Gale holstered his weapon and walked up to the scientist, ripping his keycard off of his coat.
"Thanks," he said to him before going to Zhabiv and took his keycard as well.
"Where is her tracker?" Cade asked the doctor.
"You need to turn the power on for that, and that is what drew those devils in the first place,"he said.
Gale pointed the revolver to one of them and told him, "Imran, you're gonna turn it on, or one of them dies."
He didn't say anything, so Gale shrugged and fired his revolver, killing one of the other doctors.
"Who's next?" Gale asked before one of the others broke and said, "I know how! Just please, don't kill us."
"Get to work," he said before holstering his gun. He walked over to Zhabiv, saying, "His blood is on you, Imran. Justin! Come get some vengeance," he pulled out his knife and handed it to Justin.
"What do you want me to do? He asked.
"Whatever you want, just don't kill him."
Justin looked into the man's eyes and they were filled with fear, completely at his mercy. He brought the blade before his left eye before slowly driving it in. The doctor yelled out in pain as the knife pierced his eye, and then passed out due to the pain. He pulled the knife out and pulled out some gauze to wrap up the wound and make sure he didn't bleed to death. Sam would be very interested in him.
