After the whole fiasco, Ava had moved so far away from Xander much to his annoyance. There was no time to focus on the tension between them when Sterling, Cole, Violet and two other people she didn't recognize strolled into the office after a single knock. She stayed where she was, at the chair she had pulled out and dragged to the corner. Her eyes caught Violet's and to her utter shock, Violet gave her the nastiest look she had ever seen on her. Not like she had spent much time, but from what she had observed, Violet was as cheerful as they got; head stuck in a daydream possibly 24/7.

Deciding not to dwell on it, she averted her eyes, seeing that Cole was grinning at her. He sent a wink her way and she realized that he probably had an idea of what had happened in the office. All she could do was scowl at him. She was still mad at him for keeping her on house arrest for all those days. He probably got heat from Xander for letting her get out of his sight, but if his grin proved anything, it was that he didn't give a damn neither was he affected by any of it.

Rolling her eyes, she continued to glance around, wishing she was somewhere else entirely rather than in that room. She was glad that no one else paid attention to her. Not even Sterling that she thought she was now cool with.

"Welcome back Alpha Harrison. I trust your travels went well?" the light greeting came from a man that was considerably older, his whole head covered with grey hair

"Yes. They did. Thank you." Ava turned her eyes to Xander as he spoke, finding his eyes on her. She glared at him, seeing that his lips twitched upwards. He really did find her anger amusing "Please take a seat."

They all sat on the leather sofas, Xander moving to take a seat on the last one that looked like it was solely reserved for him.

"Proceed." the air in the room suddenly changed, the power from her mate filling the air. Ava couldn't decide if he had done it on purpose or not

"Well, to start of sir..." Sterling said, opening up some files on the table in front of him "So far, after drilling all the warriors, we were able to fish out the traitors. They ranged from age 26 to 32 and were a total of 15 in number."

"15 in number? That's too high a number of your warriors Commander Sterling. What exactly do you teach them?" the other person; an older woman who looked to be the same age as the older man spoke, her tone very condescending

"I assure you elder Pamela that my men are, mind my lack of modesty, the greatest in North America, if not one of the best in the world. These men were, unfortunately, corrupted by Richard Harrison by means he hasn't revealed yet. All we know now is that he was able to form a blood bond with them and from the intel we gathered, 12 out of the 15 men attested to being in the blood bond with the previous Alpha for the past 6 years." Sterling responded, retaining his stoic expression

"That would make sense since he still had the ability to perform the ritual for that during that time." Cole said "The act of attaining a blood bond was deemed illegal years ago, so it comes as no surprise no one else knew about it and they were never able to say a word."

"Exactly. The only way we would have been able to save them is by cancelling out that agreement with a new one to which they and the present Alpha have to agree to." Sterling said "The younger men were easy to brainwash, but unless we get him to confess to what he did to make them agree to make blood agreements with him, we won't be able to get to the root of the problem. Everyone knows blood bonds have been banned for over a hundred years."

"Where are these men now?" the older man asked

"In separate detention cells. If they cooperate with us and get the help they need, we are making plans to-with the Alpha's permission of course-move the to rehabilitation centers and go through retraining." Violet answered, her tone serious "They are good men. They were just caught up in an elaborate scheme and acted as pawns. We believe we have the ability to re-orientate them and get them the help that they need."
