Unexpected Love

Chapter 27.

It has been a week since Severus got attacked by the dark lord. Severus was quieter then usual and stayed up later. I guess he was just scared and so was I.
The fact I had to kill Albus remained in my mind, how could I do that. Albus was always there for me and I think it would destroy me to kill a man.
I need to speak to him about it and see if there is any other option.

I let the thought fade away for now and focused on what I needed to do today. It was Severus birthday tomorrow on Sunday meaning I needed to go to hogsmeade to get something special for him! It would be good to cheer him up from all the gloomy days ahead of us.
It was the weekend so I didn't need to worry about missing any classes.

What could I get him. I thought picking at my food on my plate.

"Hey Celia what are you doing today" taylah said wipping me out of thought.

"I need to go to hogsmeade, would you care to join me?" I asked with a soft smiled playing on my lips.

"Yes I would love to, shall we invite Cora aswell" she replied.

"Invite me where?" Cora chimed in behind us grinning.

"Hogsmeade"

"Yes girls day out let's go" she sung grabbing me to pull me up letting my toast fall from my hand.

"Woah" I shouted as i stumbled over my feet.

"Look out" taylah announced.

I couldn't contain my balance as I unexpectedly walked on the back of my own shoes. My hands clamoured for a non-existent object to grab. I realised I fell straight into someone. It made me fall back into my arse groaning in pain. I rubbed my palms and looked up. Dam it out of everyone why did I have to fall into Severus, how Embarrassing that was.

"Are you going to stay down there all day miss Malfoy?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"Sorry sir" I replied my face going slightly red as I heard my friends sniggering behind me.

"Get up" he smirked grabbing my wrist and pulling me up to my feet.

"Thanks" I said quietly trying to suppress the smile that was growing. As he let go of my hand he let a small piece of paper fall into my palm. Severus then quickly turned on his heel and had his cape billowing behind him.

"That was weird" Cora laughed.

"Very, he is definitely going easy on you" taylah added.

"Let's keep going" I said trying to change the subject. I put the small piece of paper into my pocket and decided to read it when I was in privacy.

"So do you reckon there will be a war?" Cora asked as we entered hogsmeade.

"Yes I've seen Mcgonagall adding extra security around the castle sometimes and The professors seem agitated" taylah told us.

"The war will be bad" I replied.

"How do you know"

"I just know, everything seems dull and it's like the happiness has gone in the world" I told them twiddling my wand through my fingers.

"Yeah I guess so" taylah said.

"I'm not ready" Cora murmured.

"Neither" I mumbled.

We entered hogsmeade but there was hardly anybody around. There wasn't any enchanted candles floating like there normally was it was quite dreary and it upset me.
I decided I would get a special bracelet for Severus with an enchantment. You could only get these in a special shop which not many people knew about, it would protect him from certain nasty spells and bounce back on the person who cast it.

"I'm going to a shop I'll meet you back here soon" I shouted running off down a path.

I carried on walking for about 10 minutes until I came across the shop I was looking for. The sign on the door was slightly scratched off but I could still read a couple of letters and knew this was the right place. Dumbledore told me about this place in a conversation we had in 6th year about enchanted items. I wrote it down so I never forgot incase I needed to get something special. Turned out to be a useful piece of information.

I walked into this strange looking shop and was greeted.

"Good afternoon Miss" a old man croaked behind a big wooden shelf.

"Good afternoon I would like an enchanted item please" I smiled hoping he had what I wanted.

"You have come to the right place. What sort of thing would you like"

"Something that protects the wearer" I replied.

"A bracelet perhaps?" The old man questioned

"Perfect"

The man took out a dark emerald green bracelet with a silver snake wrapped around it. It shimmered in the light and slightly glowed in the dark. I admired the piece of jewellery which would be perfect for Severus. The man muttered something under his breath while swirling his wand around it. The bracelet then glowed brightly and then died down in a matter of seconds.

"Here you are" the man popped it into a black box and pushed it over the counter.

"How much"

"It's free" he smiled showing his teeth which had many holes in.

"Are you sure" i squeaked.

"Yes of course. Now have a good day" He said in a raspy voice.

"Well thank you ever so much" I jumped grabbing the box and twirling out of the shop.

What a nice man. I thought as I put the box into my coat pocket.
The shop was in a side ally so I decided to read the piece of paper that Severus gave to me. I grabbed it and unfolded the paper hastily.

Celia.
I want to thank you for everything. I may not express my love for you enough but I assure you, you mean a lot to me and losing you haunts me. I never thought I could love again until you came along and I never thought I could be loved as I am broken but im slowly getting better because you are in my life.
However enough about that.
I would like to invite you to my chambers tonight at 8pm sharp so don't be late! Otherwise I will have to think of a suitable punishment.

A single tear rolled down my cheek as I read the letter out in my head. I love him so much. Severus' sweet side is the best and I'm glad I brought that out of him and I'm glad I'm making him a better man. I wiped the tears of my cheek and smiled massively to myself. I wonder what he has planned. I thought.
I folded up the paper tightly and put it back in my pocket.

I skipped happily along to where I left my friends.

"About time" Taylah huffed crossing her arms.

"Sorry" I giggled.

"We have been waiting for nearly an hour Celia, where have you been" Cora added tutting.

"Sorry I got distracted in the shops"
"Don't make a big deal" I rolled my eyes.

"Let's go" I said hopping passed them.

I heard them both sigh as they got dragged along behind me.

By the time we got back to Hogwarts it was late afternoon meaning I only had a few hours until Severus wanted me in his chambers. I was excited because I didn't know what he had planned but I knew it was special because he wrote me that letter inviting me which I found super cute. We have been together officially for the past few months and safe to say it's been maybe the best few months of my life despite everything bad that's happened.
He made sure I was safe and looked after me and made sure I was loved and I did the same for him.
I spent the next few hours just studying in the common room when it was time to go. I told my friends I had a detention again and probably won't be back until late so they shouldn't wait up for me.

I was strolling down the dungeon hallway with my hair swaying behind me. I wore a black pencil skirt and a black oversized jumper to accompany it. I hurried on into the potions classroom which was empty and carried on into Severus' chambers. I creaked open the door to be greeted with Severus stood awkwardly waiting for me.
