"I can't believe we couldn't recover your phone snookums."
"It's okay I needed a new one. Also, you know, I don't like those pet names in public. People stare."
"I know but you are cute and it's hard to resist calling you that name after I get you a new iPhone 12 ma-"
"About that honey-"
Ella and Jonathan were strolling down the business district of town, it had the glitz and glamour of Atlantic City's The Outlets but without empty hotels and casinos. Where small businesses and large corporations alike were cohabiting in the street of the Eastside of Coastal Luna in pure blissful harmonious hatred, but that is beside the point. The town had an AT&T, Ella and Jonathan were heading there as unfortunately Ella's phone could not be recovered from the site by her and authorities. Now they were buying a new phone for her but um,
"Jonathan, I don't want you to buy me a new phone, I appreciate the sentiment. I really do, but it's my own phone."
Frowning at her and holding both of her hands, Jonathan pouted making sure his bottom lip is fully out as he pleads adorably,
"Ella, please? I want to get it for you because I allowed you to get hurt on my watch."
Ella shook her head insistent, gently rubbing the knuckles of her fiance's hands with her thumb she reassured him, "It's not because of that I don't want you to get me one, but I should be on my own plan for now for my sake. You pay a lot for this trip, let me pay for my own things, please. I promise once we are married we get on the same plan. For now, let me buy my own phone. I don't even want an iPhone, I use Google a ton and I need to have a Samsung Galaxy, please?"
Frowning, Jonathan looked away only to say in defeat, "Only until the wedding okay? By the way, remember later Wednesday afternoon we have cake tasting, bring your friends along and have on video chat tomorrow, Alexis and Anna."
Nodding happily she quickly brushed her lips against his for a moment. Pulling away and seeing her sugar bear walk away Ella immediately waved him off and said,
"Go to Wawa and get us a couple of fruit smoothies, I want mango pineapple with cream, I'll be busy here for a couple of moments."
Jonathan frowned but obliged walking to the local Wawa convenience store away from Ella. Waiting until he was gone, Ella's expression changed and she sighed aloud to herself. Her search for her phone or anything from the accident to show what happened ended up futile and Jonathan did the typical told-you-so thing when she came back empty-handed. Something felt off about the entire thing, there was something weird about the entire thing, but what could she do? Maybe she should take the offer and go to that psychic lady's house.
"YOU ARE BEING UNREASONABLE!"
Ella jumped at the sound of yelling from inside the AT&T. As the female jumped, Ella looked into the glass unsure what was going on. Immediately letting her curiosity get the best of her Ella studied the scene.
Inside the store, an older man was gripping the shirt of a male clad in very stylish clothes who was smirking confidently at the smaller man. The younger man seemed very pissed, but the store owner shared the same wavelength of anger. The other younger man gripped the hand of the owner and calmly said,
"I pointed out you were ripping me off for parts. It says on the site you sell the lens for the iPhone for 24.99, not 109.99, now sell it to me for the original price or we are going to have to get ugly."
Ella did not want to see blood spilled so instead of watching, she immediately stepped into the AT&T before saying awkwardly,
"Hi um, I would like to buy a phone..."
