"I shouldn't Like you." - Tsukkiyama

Slight Angst and fluff. 

In this, Tadashi realizes he likes Tsukishima but doesn't want to lose his best friend and therefore wants his feelings to go away

Yamaguchi loves Tsukki but thinks his friend doesn't feel the same so therefore thinks it's wrong

Tadashi Yamaguchi thought he had everything under control. He knew he had grown to have feelings for his best friend which he knew wasn't right but he just hadn't acted on them and waited for them to eventually fade. However, recently it had gotten harder and harder to ignore his feelings.

It all had started a couple of days before when he had twisted his ankle slightly during practice. Tsukishima had picked him up, sat him down on a bench so he could rest it and gave him a small comforting smile before returning to practice. He also kept checking on him throughout the rest of practice, glancing at him every now and then.

The next time it happened was the next day when they were walking home from school together. Yamaguchi told a joke which he himself didn't think was too funny but Tsukishima chuckled. It wasn't his usual sarcastic one either, it sounded authentic and like he actually found the joke amusing. You would think as these two were such close friends that he had gotten used to it but that sound replayed in his head over and over again for hours afterwards.

Yamaguchi was starting to panic. If his feelings were only getting more intense what was he going to do? Would he have to stop hanging out with Tsukki? That was practically impossible, the two even had a sleepover that night. No, avoiding him wouldn't work. He just had to pray his feelings went away.

So he still arrived at Tsukishima's house that night as if nothing was wrong. He walked inside like normal, they went up to his room like normal and enjoyed the night in his c̶u̶t̶e̶ awesome dinosaur bedroom.

After a very uneventful and regular sleepover, it became time to go to bed. The two always shared a bed when they slept over at each other's houses. It had been going on for years and neither of them had any issues with it, until tonight.

Yamaguchi hesitantly got into the bed and flinched as he heard the bedside lamp go off. He was lying in a bed with his crush and they were very close together. He just turned away from Tsukishima and closed his eyes, just wanting it to be over as quickly as possible so he wouldn't have to think so much about his feelings towards the other. It wasn't too long before he did fall asleep.

The next morning, he woke up to feel a warmth all around him. It wasn't uncomfortable, in fact it was nice and, forgetting about the worries from the night before, snuggled closer to whatever the heat was coming from. He then noticed something tighten around his back and waist, pulling him in closer towards the heat source. Air that felt like someone's breath tickled against his neck. Despite his tiredness, his newfound curiosity got the better of him and he slowly opened his eyes to see what was going on.

A quick yelp of shock could be heard as Yamaguchi's eyes fell upon Tsukishima, who was currently holding onto him with a vice like grip and resting his head into Yamaguchi's neck. He tried to move away but he couldn't escape the hug from his friend. A few more moments of fidgeting soon woke the sleeping boy up, who loosened his grip as he went to grab his glasses.

"Yamaguchi, what's wrong?" Asked Tsukishima to his friend who was now sitting on the edge of the bed. He moved over to join him, only for Tadashi to turn his head away.

"You were hugging me in your sleep." Came the reply.

"I'm sorry for making you feel uncomfortable Yamaguchi. You know I'd never intend to do that. I remember you shivering last night so my tired brain must have made me hug you to warm you up. I apologize." He said.

"No, I liked it."

"What?"

"I liked it."

Tsukishima shot him a confused look.

"Then why did you get scared and try to get me off you?"

"Because I can't let myself like it." Yamaguchi answered and finally looked up at his friend.

"I like you Tsukki. I love you. But, i shouldn't love you. Other people don't like it when two guys date and I don't know if you think that and I don't want to lose you.Heck, I bet most of team wouldn't want a gay player on it. I should be liking girls and wanting to kiss them and hug them in more than a platonic way and marry them but I don't. I can't find any happiness even trying to convince myself I like girls. But I don't want just any guy to do those things with me, I want to do them with you Tsukki. I want to kiss you and hug you like we just were but have it mean something more. I want to potentially get more serious with you Tsukki. I love you,I know I shouldn't but I can't bear to try and force these feelings away anymore."

Tsukishima was stunned. He had never expected such loving words yet such absolute bullshit at the same time. He took Yamaguchi's hand in his, causing the boy to look at him again.

"Yamaguchi I would never hate you for being gay. Neither would the team. Don't tell them I said this but they're good people. Also, if anyone hated you for being gay, I would gladly fight them in an instant. And as for you liking me," he took a pause and pressed a gentle kiss on the back of Yamaguchi's hand before continuing, " I like you too."I

Now it was Yamaguchi 's turn to look stunned. He smiled brightly and felt tears well up in his eyes as he lunged forward and hugged Tsukishima tightly. The other boy chuckled and hugged back, resting his head on Yamaguchi's shoulder. The two stayed like that for a while, hugging and smiling before Tsukishima let out a slight yawn.

"Hey Yamaguchi, not that I don't like this hug but I'm still a little tired, can we go back to bed for a bit?" He asked.

"Of course Tsukki" Tadashi said and the two got back under the covers, facing eachother . Tsukishima stretched his arms towards the other, asking if it was ok to hug him again. After getting a nod of approval, he wrapped his arms around Yamaguchi's back and waist again, pulling him close before nuzzling his face into his neck. Tadashi blushed and wrapped his arms around Tsukishima before the two quickly fell asleep in eachothers arms. Needless to say, Tadashi never ignored his feelings for Tsukishima again.

Hey guys, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I've been wanting to upload this for a few days but I've kept myself really busy with multiple things at once. If I don't post this week it's most likely because I have school starting again, I have a PowerPoint I'm doing for fun on Genshin Impact characters which is also a sort of jokey thing for my friend, I have art I want to do and I've started a Photoshop thing so yeah I have a lot i 'm doing.

I might find time to post during the night but if I don't I thought I would tell you why.
